I enjoy reading everybody's experiences so thought I might register and maybe ...give up a few of my own!
Thanks, but there's not much in there the last time I looked ... gotta slap the gray matter a little.
Um ok, are there any jobs in ontario for technical people? Maybe a lame thing for me to ask, but I live in void where technology is 10 years behind, and dimwits are everywhere! :dizzy2:
Ottawa at one time was actually referred to as silicone valley north. Nortel has taken quite a down turn and so have others. It is still a growth area and it will rebound with time. JDS. Mitel and Newbridge were also linked to that area. It still is thriving but not to the same degree as it was in the 90's. That could change again as with that sector one break through is gold. The up sprout right now is Waterloo. There are a lot of smaller tech firms that are starting to gain a reputation and could very well prosper past original predictions.
You may also want to scout out National Research Council, Atomic Energy and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Many facets in each and something might take your fancy.
