when i was like 10 i used to have dreams of a white background and huuuuuge black rocks hitting against each other and i could feel them.. it was pretty scarey, what do they mean?
it means you may have alot of potential for dream travel. read the art of dreaming, by carlos castaneda. you might want to read tales of power first.
yup. bout a dozen of em. fear is a reaction to new stimuli your body/vessel isn't prepared for. the more intense and scary a dream is, the more powerful. what you described was so outlandish, i felt the obligation to respond. don't let anyone give you any freudian interpretive bullshit. have fun with it, man. there are countless possibilities when you learn to be aware in your dreams, and writing them off in that way would be a shame.
plenty of techniques to be found. for starters, if you want to shock yourself into more dream awareness, quit all addictions for a week straight-that's including the one guys do when they're alone with the door locked and the blinds down....won't get into that....awkward.....anyways, this will shock your mind into extreme activity, during your waking and dream hrs. ask yourself 20 times a day: am i dreaming? i mean, really ask. look around and check things out to make sure. eventually, you'll do it in a dream. if you do become lucid, immediately look at your hands. they will stay stable, while other objects may fade. once centered on your hands, look at the next nearest object, then back to your hands. repeat until you have a full view of what is in front of you. got that out of art of dreaming. once you are at this point, it is like being in a very real place. you can ask a question, change the dream, fly, etc. don't waste time trying to have sex fantasies. it uses up all of your dream awareness like that. much better to put that energy into something useful. to start, try to gain more control over your dream body. anyways, enough for now. you're welcome to message me if you make any progress and have questions. i am no expert, but i don't mind sharing info. it would be most beneficial for you to do your own reading and experimentation.
that's one way to put it, but it defies description after a certain point. i wish you luck and effort, friend.
One of my friends learned how to lucid dream - after a point he said that he had to stop doing it, got into some REALLY strange places, way beyond description even more so than describing an exerience on psychedelics. I believe that part of the problem with him was a bluring of the distinction between dreaming and waking.
i would consider it an enormous favor if you would recommend the previously mentioned books to your friend. i believe they would help him greatly, whether or not he has told you he is "done". please.
i think that happened to me once.. i was dreaming of just sitting on my computer and i think i knew i was dreaming, then everything went blurry and i was scared
yyesiam2.. i was trying to have a lucid dream last night, i didnt do it, but i had a really long and clear dream..not like normally.. and i remember in my dream that my mum said we should get a new fridge, and today the fridge wasnt working.. thats weird
accept those sort of things as ordinary, and they will occur more often. the clean comment referred to your physical body and your thought process. a good technique to try would be relaxing your mind to a state of non-thought for 10-30 minutes before going to sleep. the more you become used to this, the close you'll be able to get to sleeping without losing consciousness. don't be afraid if your mind begins to chatter on its own. this is normal when drifting off. gives ya a different perspective on your thoughts.
Most lucid dreams happen after 6 hours of good sleep, interupted or not. When waking after a dream, any dream, do not get up. Log all details in a journal. Then get up, walk around. Then go back to sleep. And as mentioned before, practice asking yourself if you are dreaming during your waking state. Also observe signs relentlessly. This practice will pass over into dream state. Since it is very difficult to hold onto any written words in the dream state, you will know that you are dreaming when you cant read the sign. Look at your hands, but not too intensely. Flying is a common lucid event. The sensation is the same as falling but with a different perspective. Sexual restraint is also known as celibacy, but whatever saves the energy for lucid events.
