Weird acid reacion. Help!

The other weekend I tripped acid for my first time. I took two hits of some apparently high grade acid, I have nothing to base this on besides my friends' word. I had gone into with the right attitude and everything and for the first hour or so was feeling pretty amazing. What I started to notice was I was having too many thoughts way to fast to express them and speaking was proving difficult because if I didn't spit m words out quick enough, they were gone. Another half hour goes buy and my memory slowly slips into nothing. Apparently, my girlfriend, who I was tripping with, left and this is when it all happened.

Most everything from this point forward I have no recollection of, I was told.When she was leaving, I didn't say bye to her. I hadn't said anything for about half an hour at this point. So she leaves and I take off. My step brother goes looking for me and calls a lot of my friends and finally finds me in another reach of our neighborhood. All my friends tried to keep me around. At this point, I was completely incoherent and unresponsive. Apparently, I was locking my jaw and smiling a lot, snapping and swinging my arms. After about what I assume to be an hour or so goes by I started took off again. This time when I was found, I jumped into the woods. My step brother and friends watched me run around the forest for a good bit. Here is where I spoke for the first time in a while. I responded to literally everything with "go fuck yourself" half joking way. After a few more hours of babysitting and worrying to death, my friends left thinking I might have permanent damage to my brain. I was with my step brother at this point and wouldn't listen to him. I through myself into the bushes and when my step brother lifted me up, I just fell into mud and passed out keep in mind I was tripping hard when I fell asleep. So here is where my step brother apparently babysat me for a few hours. I woke up a few times and started saying things that would come out of a lunatic's mouth, I don't doubt I was attempting to make fun of people's acid premonitions but I can't be sure. I came to at about 6 in the morning in the woods with vines rapped around me, in my mouth, ect. I had no idea anything happened. I said to my stepbrother "what do you guys wanna do?" thinking that I was talking to him and my girlfriend who had left roughly 4 hours previous to this.

My trip was done and I felt robbed. I scared the living shit out of a lot of people, even brought tears to a few. I have no clue how this happened. I do take ADHD medication for school and had taken it two days previous to this event. My thoughts are that it was still in my system and it reacted with the LSD. Realize that I didn't have a "bad trip."

Any thoughts? I would really like to know why this happened.

 

My guess is you have alot of underlying psychological material that you acted out and probably weren't ready to confront and acted in this strange manner instead. It could also be you just ran with your break from reality since the sensation was new to you.. You might be pretty sensitive to LSD, be careful if you decide to do it again.

 

How old are you? Has anyone else you know taken this acid? What was their reaction?

How long did the total experience last? Best guesstimate based on what remains of your memories and what folks have told you . . .

 

Do you have a family history of mental illness?

 

...ADHD migghta contributed, i know some people that have dropped with add/adhd and from my experience its either a reaction like yours or manic depressive.. But i cant say for certain, but it seems like it could be an issue.
...Sounds like a lot of pent up energy and personal sensitivity, acid gets some people real revvv'd up.

Wish he'd reply to some of the questions. It might clarify things like: Was it really LSD? Did he have something cooking that toxified his set and literally set him off? Is he just about to pop (mental illness) naturally (age and family hx related)? Things of that sort. The reaction reminds me a lot of tropanes and seems extremely odd for LSD. And this from someone (me) who has had a (temporary, he he) delusional/dissociative reaction to LSD . . . .

 

I'm sure he'll respond. Interesting case. I really feel, with acid, if you know of the barebones you can make a good prediction.

I think the only weird part about his behavior or this story actually is that he had no recollection of it. Everything else obviously sounds like he was tripping face in his mind, and when asked to do something social or involving the 'real world,' he gave a more childish 'I don't give a fuck about this, it's obviously not important' response.

Did you take anything else? Do you normally 'black out' on other drugs or alcohol?

 

In my mind it is one of three possibilities
1) not LSD
2) just another case of a young, inexperienced user "acting out" what they think they should do based on old episodes of Dragnet
3) it's fiction

 

I was thinking it sounded a little dramatic. But LSD is a powerful thing.. so is the mind, so who knows

 

Word, we got this amazing burner party shutdown because this dude on acid ran down the street naked and ran into an authority figure. These freakouts are not common but do happen. I have definitely had moments where I have had some of those symptoms like 'thoughts moving so quickly its hard to talk' and something like a blackout for a few moments on LSD.

Pb: If he's young he may have never even have heard of Dragnet let alone seen it... I know I haven't.

The fact he doesn't remember anything from his acid trip is the big one as someone pointed out. acid trips are generally rememberable. so either it's BS or he had a full dissociative fugue / psychotic break.

 

PB - i went right to the last Dragnet clip. What a scream! He sounds like he's tweaking on meth! Love that progression from pot to heroin then to LSD. LOL . . . "ingest one acid capsule and bought the farm." Damn! "Without judgement you may as well be dead - your brain is so why not the rest of you?" Hello? George W. Bush . . . ?

Then he compares alcohol to marijuana, describing alcohol effects as being from pot!!! "Don't you try to equate liquor w/marijuana - not with me! You may try to sell that jazz to another pot head but not to somebody who spends most of their time holding some sick kid's head while he vomits and retches sitting on a curbstone at 4 o'clock in the morning . . . ." Ummmm, seriously dude, the potheads smoked a joint and all went to bed before 1 a.m. The bars closed at 2 a.m. Your puking kid stayed up all night drinking. Should have smoked pot!
