most people start of with doing weed.. and they say that, thats the only drug they'll ever do.. well, that and alcohol. but eventually, they'd get kinda bored of weed, and wanna try something different for a change. (just one time) so they try a drug thats slightly more intense, but not nearly as bad as the chemicals.. they try shrooms. they love shrooms, so they do it wayy more than just once... but since the shrooms turned out so great. again, they wanna experiement a little more. so they go on to doing harder drugs. and so forth.. is that the case with a lot of people?
Ummm as long as its just shrooms LSD ayuasca and weed then I'd say it doesn't matter, just dont be stupid and do other drugs.
I've heard that a lot of kids in the Midwest are going straight to meth. The whole idea of a "gateway" drug is silly, I think, because it is most likely going to be whatever is the most abundant.
The gateway theory is flawed because it does not consider legal drugs. Kids learn that if they drink enough Mountain Dew in one night they will get really hyper. Then they learn how trashed they can get if they steal daddy's bottle of whiskey. For people like me that don't enjoy drinking more than once every few weeks, they smoke weed. This is where it splits. People either like weed and just smoke and occasionally drink, start tripping but still smoke weed, or move on to harder drugs like coke. Having done shrooms and coke once, I can say that tripping is bit too intense for me and coke is just a waste of money. Heroin and Meth are just trashy drugs.
i don't personally think doing shrooms, or any other psychedelic really, makes you want to do 'harder' drugs. psychedelics differ way too much from the stimulants and depressants and glue or whatever else
Never said that it made you want to to harder drugs. Actually I inferred the opposite. Most people that enjoy trippping look at meth and heroin as "synthetic death".
I love tripping, but blaming anything 'synthetic' is dumb since we have acid and the DOx series and the 2c-x series and a thousand others.
everything is made from something from nature at one point. that doesn't make everything semi-synthetic
marijuana made me wanna try other drugs. when i first started smoking i was like hell yes getting high is awesome, but there gotta be something else to get high from. so i started doing other stuff.. not "hard" drugs though, like coke and heroin. i don't think marijuana leads to those kinda drugs
i think it depends on your personality. if you like weed and know that other drugs aren't gonna do you very good in life then you realize a sense of maturity and stay at weed, or alcohol or both. whichever you were introduced to first. but if you have a generally apathetic personality, or have an extreme personality where hardcore drugs are for you, then you move up in the drug scale to harder drugs. i think it all depends on how you look it.
sorry i didn't mean my reply to be directed at yours, the first post mentioned mushrooms as an example so i was replying to that
