Alright. I got this sticky stuff. I stick it in a bag. Stick that in a tupperware. It sits on my basement floor for a week or two. I open up the stuff today, and it...it looks like it has a thick spider web on it. That's the only way I can describe it. It used to just be dark, dark green, with a couple orange hairs. Now, it's the same, but it looks...grayer. One nug had the spider web thing on one side. The only things I could thing of were 1. A spider got...into my tupperware, into the bag, and spun a web on my weed 2. The shit molded in the virtually airtight, constant temperature environment. 3. The shit matured, and grew a bunch of crystals. The most reasonable one I think is that it molded. It was a dark place, and the stuff was "dank"... No, this shit actually was. I dunno if the guy let it dry longer enough, it stuck together if you stuck two nugs together. Anyways...sorry about starting so many threads, but what do you guys think?
i'm guessing mold. funny story...i decided i'm a psychic yesterday. i was playing some monopoly with some friends, when, for some reason, i imagine my friends going into the fridge to get some bean dip and finding it covered in white mold, but thinking, for some reason, that the mold was part of the dip and eating it and dying. i told this to my friend, and a few minutes later, my other friend went to get some pita bread, humus, corn chips, and bean dip. sure enough, it was covered in the same exact white mold that i saw in my head!! so yeah, your weed is moldy.
aww...don't do that... you'll get hit by an online grocery store delivery truck next wednesday if you do.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.... but what if he sold it on thursday? anyway.. that sucks dude its probably mold just smoke the nugs with out the mold on them you should be fine
your weed molded, obviously. looks like somebody failed to dry it properly. or possibly it was moistened in order to increase the weight and cheat the buyer.
BAD idea. Smoking mold can potentially be pretty bad for you. If I remember correctly, some kinds of mold that develop on weed can either kill you or cause serious problems. Moldy weed goes in the trash, PERIOD.
You so do not want to smoke moldy nugs, that's just bad news bears right there. Here in the NW, mold can be a major problem and not just for the kynd. If you're able to, you should keep your nugs in the freezer - keeps them nice and fresh and there's not chance of molding. And DO NOT sell that stuff - majorly bad karma dude.
I say it was the basement that did it. Basements can be all different types of climates. Here is what I do with my weed if I want to store it for awhile. I put it in a ziplock bag or one of those sandwhich baggies. I get as much air out of it as possible and seal it up. If I have an extra baggie I will put the baggie the weed is in that then put it in a tin can. Those tin cookie cans you get from WalMart or Walgreens work nicely. I've got 2 big nuggets worth of hydro I bought back in Jan. I want to say and I dug it out last week and smoked some of it. Smoked nicely, got me baked. It was a little dry but not like super dry so it wasn't a harsh smoke. Burned slow too.
You really think it was the basement? I mean, perhaps there was a climate change, but it certainly wouldn't be a drastic one. I kept it on cold concrete floor. I would be surprised if that shit got anywhere above 50 degrees. But the weird part is that it was like, sealed up. Like hardcore. In a baggie with little air, and in a tupperware. I probably already said that, but who cares, this is a fucking stoner forum, we forget things.
This mold hot me fucked up. It was almost like crack or something, my whole bottom of my face was numb and shit. Plus it was almost an all Sativa strain so my head was soaring. Great high. But, my heart hurt the next day, related? I have no clue.
Like I said basements carry all sorts of different temps and what not. They can be damp, humid, cold, hot, wet, or dry or a combo of any. So yeah, I'd keep it somewhere that stay at a constant climate/temp. Like in a closet. I keep mine inside the tin cookie can and keep that inside my old high school backpack that doubles as my laptop carrier now.
