Weed Decriminalised in Massachusetts

Possession of under an ounce is now punishable by a civil fine up to $100. I hope this legislation catches on to the rest of the country, it's "high" time...

Big win for us! But be careful, kids: the law hasn't taken effect yet. Should be around the new year.

 

but what about pipes and stuff in the car or in your pockets?

 

I imagine they'll confiscate your weed and whatever paraphenalia you've got on you, but it's still a major step in the right direction. It sure beats going to court!

 

oh definately.i dont know what all the laws are about weed here,thats why i asked about pipes and stuff.sometimes i do keep my pipe in the truck.after the new year i can have the weed and only worry about a meesly 100 dollar ticket for it.just kinda iffy on the pipe though.

 

That's why I travel light, I use one o' those dugouts with the cigarette looking thing, that way I can cruise around looking like I'm smoking a cig, and if I get caught I don't have that much on me, so what they take from me won't hurt so much.

I'm not sure when this law kicks in, I think it's January, watch your step till then. And if they snag you with your keys in the ignition, I reckon they can still give you a dui.

Next time I'm in mass I'll be toking up. 'Course I would anyway, lol.

 

i know they can get you with DUI with the keys in the ignition or in your hand.i usually dont drive when im stoned so im ok in that area.and if i do i drive as soon as the smoking is finished so i can hopefully get where im going before it really kicks in.most i usually have on me is 1/4oz.just enough for me and a few friends for a night.

 

I have personally been involved in the campaign, and am proud that it passed!

Thank you! Maybe Mass will serve as a model to the rest of the country, when they see a drop in the cost of the criminal justice system needed to enforce it...

and that basically says that the stateys aint even gonna bother lookin for the weed and giving a ticket?
