Weed and Wine

Who else likes a nice glass of wine with a bowl? do you think certain wines go better with different types of marijuana?.. other than Boones goes well with schwa because they are both cheap lol.. but seriously.. i'm drinking a Barefoot Cellars Sauvignon Blanc and its goin together pretty well with these nuggest i got right now

Red wine goes nice with some buds, dont know about whites, mabey in the summer.

Wine w/beer? Definitely. But only decent to good stuff that's good in the summer. No bud/miller/hams/schaffer (those were ok in college, but no more). Blue moon, hacker-pschorr, Shiner Bock. You know, good drinking beers.

as for wine, yeah, it can go very nicely with some bud when i'm in the mood, and i definitely believe that you can pair certain pot with certain wines. in fact, i remember a high times a few years ago with a short article on that very topic...i remember they suggested something particular for strawberry cough, but i cant remember. of course such articles are useless for those of us who dont know exactly what they're smoking.

and i think some whites or even sparkling wine can go well with pot, too. for instance, a few months ago i picked up an eighth of some really nice nugs...not so wet as they can often be, very sticky, nice light color, and if you took a big ass sniff of them, they smelled like sparkling white wine...like asti or champagne or something! seriously some of the best smelling stuff i've ever had. and the taste was slightly sweet, but also fairly hashy, and i bet the depth of the flavor of the pot might actually go well with something light, sweet, and sparkling, like asti. they'd offset each other perfectly, really. i wish i knew what strain it was i had!

personally, though, while i love wine, good wine is really expensive. too rich for me. i really am more into fine beers, which are easily as good and complex as a fine wine, and way less expensive, even for top-shelf stuff. if you guys get avery brewing company in your area, you owe it to yourselves to get a big bottle of maharaja imperial india pale ale....tons of malt make it pretty sweet, but the sweetness is almost perfectly balanced by TONS of hops. only the kicker is its not too bitter as a huge portion of the hops are added right at the end, adding more flavor and aroma than simply bitterness. the variety of hops used are unknown to me, but its definitely more on the floral and citrus side of things rather than spicey or earthy...this is one of my all time favorites, and a big bottle of it is only around 6 bucks. figure in the fact that its almost 10% alcohol, way cheaper than good wine, nearly as strong, every bit as incredible as a fine wine, every bit as complex...i'll pick this beer over most any wine i can afford any day of the week. i would recommend it with a light, bright tasting strain...something with a floral, fruity, or sweet flavor to it. unless its sweet like bubblegum, in which case i'd definitely recommend a german hefeweizen (dont bother with american hefes, they aren't estery enough, different yeast usually, and when they get the yeast right they dont make it full bodied enough) such as paulaner (personal favorite), hacker-pschorr, or weihenstephaner.

I was smoking some last night and had a nice glug of Mateus Portugese wine. I've learned not to drink wine so much now, as it makes me loud and...drunk. Hahaha!

I'll stick to the spirits and cider.

 

what types of spirits do you like?

i personally love a nice single malt scotch, but it doesn't go as well with weed as beer or wine, imo. good rum, on the other hand, does. big fan of rum, particularly good dark rums. also some higher end tequila can be nice, like cabo wabo reposado, or even some good gin like hendricks....actually fuck yeah, a hendricks martini and a nice bowl of fantastic pot sounds pretty good right now. too bad i've got no green and got no drink, and have to work in a couple hours

 

rum would go nicely w/ a little bud... i still prefer red wine, though i had a margarita while stoned and it tasted pretty good to me. i'm a huge fan of bloody marys as well.

 

for me, i like a nice glass of meyers dark rum, gosling's black seal, appleton estate v/x, pyrat xo, or cruzan single barrel estate rum...there are a lot of other good ones, but i am particularly a big fan of either dark or aged rums.

both go really nicely with good weed, esp. on a hot summer night!

 

theres a greek white wine called Retsina its infussed with pine or some bollocks like that. red isnt that good with weed. i go to sleep, or start trashing the place. so i stay away from the red wine coz its easy to drink bottles of it when you get going!

 

i dunno, i bet an old vine zinfandel or a cabernet sauvignon might be good with a good strong earthy or hashy pot....of course thats a good way to pass out, but it would still be a good mix!

personally i find white wine far easier to drink in quantity because its so much lighter in body and refreshing.

 

its more refreshing yeah. but i had a bit of a problem with drink as a teen and it started to make me crazy. thats why i stay off the wine binges. The last time i drank wine we drank loads of red in the restraunt and then i was suppin double vodka lime and sodas (plenty of ice). i awoke with stab wounds from a kitchen fork a big lump on my head where my girlfriend had launched a telephone at my head.

thats a good thing, too. i'm trying to cut way back because i'm drinking too much personally. but its tough for me. i'd rather have pot all the time, cause lately when i get stoned at night i really dont miss drinking.
