Must brag, I've been working hard and rocking out. It started falling off of my hand today, and I had to switch to the engagement ring that two years and ten pounds ago was cutting into my finger. It fits just peachy now. I'm 5'1," and down to 172.8lbs. I was pushing 180 in September. My goal is 150, as I have a really wide frame, but I haven't stressed the weight loss as much as the abilities: running faster longer, fighting better, making that hard pose work... Since August, thanks to copious amounts of treadmills, yoga, and martial arts, I've lost two shirt sizes, gained a trouser size, and stopped being out of breath after climbing to our walk-up apartment. Today, my husband asked me (I was sitting on his lap at the time.) "Since when do YOU have a bony butt?!" Don't think he knows how happy I was to hear that, but he requested that if I'm going to be working out then I need to work on my bum so I don't hurt his legs. I noticed a slight shift in my arms, shoulders and chest today: they have less blob to them. I also slowly started eating less crap and more yum. I simply eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full, eating whatever I crave. After a couple of heavy work-out weeks, my body starts craving health food. After a few weeks of that, I don't like junk food as much. I crave peppers a lot. And I don't grudge myself some pizza or cookies every couple of days, if I crave those then I eat them too. Just not every day. Hell, yeah! The campus just built a "wellness center," which is a HUGE gym. I've been getting two hours of workout before we even count the yoga classes (4x weekly, 1hr each) and TKO (1hr aerobics, based on boxing: awesome! 1x weekly). I added weights this week, as the gym attendant finally told me what to do with them. I started feeling results within a month of starting: more energy, less depression, just healthier. And I see a new visible result every week now, after a couple of months to get into the groove. This is to encourage those who have trouble with exercise. And to brag. I think I deserve this brag.
i'm 165 lbs and 6 ft 1. anyways for your bum do some dorsel raises, lunges, standing squats etc. these are easy exercises and will help you ten fold in your quest. i do circuit training, and i recommend this as the best method for shifting weight. a girl there, since about october last year, i'd argue has lost about 3 stone (40 lbs) - she goes about 4 days a week.
Well, as school got going I lost two yoga days and the TKO, but I'm now officially training for running. It's all formal now. I also started rock climbing with the Husband, however, and gained muscle in my hands and forearms. So the wedding ring is back on, but I don't mind so much now. I did a formal fitness test a few weeks ago, and am in awesome shape compared to six months ago. Woot woot for me! I got my bum back, thanks to a leg press machine and that rock wall.
