Will wearing a beanie while I sleep help, hinder, or not affect the process of dreading? The one I have is made of 100% acrylic. Thanks for any answers. =]

Thanks, man. Is your made out of wool, by any chance? I know that's supposed to help and mine isn't made out of it.

I've been wearing a beanie (during the day) sometimes to keep my dreads out of my eyes while doing stuff, and usually leave it on for a while. I think it seems to help as some of my dreadies are getting nice and tight after I've had it on for a while.

And nah, I don't think its made of wool so should be ok :)

I sleep on a pillow. It's not going to make much difference...

That's what I thought in the beginning, Liquid, but I've read on here that they help somehow. :S

I noticed after I stopped wrapping my hair in a satin scarf at night they got a lot funkier. I was wrapping it up every night after waxing it - UGH! It's what I was told to do by my loctician - don't flame me LOL I know better now. I am having a friend knit a wool beanie for me.

I pulled a woolen jumper over my pillow in an attempt to get the wool benefits while I sleep (I wear my hair loose unless I'm doing some sort of detail work). The pillow is actually more comfortable for having a wool cover than with cotton.

I don't think its the best idea as you will probably find that you will need to wash your dreads nearly every morning coz of sweating. (I have just that through again and it sounds like yoda had just typed it! lol. Hope it makes some sense, I have just woken up!)

I wear either my knitted tam to bed, or a random beanie with my hair tied very tight in a pony tail, it helps alot, they dont stick up all the time in the morning then lol
