I agree on everything except the last part... "I'd like to think that when we die, we are finally united with a collective conciousness and are no longer alone.. but there is no way of knowing." It kind of self contradicts your statements of being alone. If were born alone and die alone why would our conciousness' suddenly be together? Just doesnt make any sense to me. If we die alone....then we die. Conciousness stops when brain stops.
I said that because i don't think we have anyway of knowing what happens when we die.. scientists can't explain conciousness and why we think even though we are just material matter.. so there is a possibility of some kind of non-material realm in which things that we could not imagine could happen i.e. our conciousness joins a collective one.
But don't you know about God? Open your heart to Jesus, and the light will shine through it and within it, and the Truth shall be revealed.
i like the question edyb i have believed that death reunites us to conciousness for some time now. i would state that my belief in such things after death are solely found through my use of mind-altering drugs. It is truely a beautiful thought that in death we find our place
