I'm going to throw out a thought here in just a moment but before I do I want to say that this isn't a creationist Vs. evolutionist argument. This is just for us all to have cool disscution, I think we all might have a good time with this one, or not I dunno.
Here goes: First off I'm all for saving and preserving our beautiful planet, but do we try too hard ? Mankind is as much a part of Earths ecosystem as any animal out there is. Seas come and go over the melnnia as well do forests, lakes, rivers, even entire land masses have dissappeared under father times sands. Do we not belong here just because we pollute the air, soil our land, and poison our water ? Mabey perchance this is just our role in the ecosystem that is our Earth, our natural order, our last rung in the evolution of our specese ? If Earth is made devoid of all life and stripped of her natural resouces by man will she not find a way to renew herself ? Who knows mabey she's been waiting for us to eventually all die off so she can start over with a new superior race. So I say fart and burp your green house gasses, smoke your pot and drive your cars.(I didn't mean at the same time)

Anywhoo, these aren't my exact views on the order of things I just like a good debate and thought could have fun with it so lets try not to get too nasty with eachother. (sorry for the spelling, Heck sorry if this whole thing sounds dumb I'm running on 4 hours of sleep in the last 50) Good night everyone. I'm gonna hit the hay. :D

Nice thread Dragon seed! i see what your saying...

i see the evolution of our industrialized nations as a sort of 'wrong turn' , if you will, in the human evolution. i mean, what other species have destroyed their own place of living? fighting each other for territory has gone on for thousands of years (doesn't justify it) but it seems nowadays oil is what alot of fighting is over...can you imagine if we (they) put as much time, money, energy into creating a self-sufficient way for the masses to live as we do fighting!
i do believe we are a part of nature, but alot of people either don't believe or never connect with nature to know it, most people do live in cities remember...
alot of species have gone extinct but some prevail and grow because they've adapted and survived ( cockroaches, crocodiles..) but none have had to power to destroy all...i don't believe humans can destroy the earth, only themselves and most life on it. i guess that's it for now...love your mother
    peace

Ditto....humans are on the earth, free to grow and cultivate, yet we shouldn't damage our habitat because of greed...im for saving the environment(tree hugger here) but i wont go as far as PETA, who will hurt humans to save animals....humans can make or break the environment....were the only chance we have for saving the environment for ourselves
