I can't begin to describe how angry I am at the Democrats in congress. They were making a stand to stop the war, but now they have caved in to Bush by funding the war AND not setting a withdraw date! It doesn't matter what the Dems do to stop the war after this, it will be too late for me. They could have stopped the war with the Nation's support and impeached Bush too. But I see now they are really in bed together.

I can't support the Democrats in the next election, they are just as evil as the Republicans. What options do we have left? Revolution? The Green Party? :&

I think this evil war will end when people around the world take to the streets, like they did with Nam.

the dems are faced with a big dillema though. Bush will send the troops regardless, if we don't support funding, the troops wont have the protection they need...!!

I'm amazed you actually believed that anything would be done. Hilary and Obama have both vowed to end the war if they are elected. We'll see how long that lasts...

I agree we have been betrayed. Those we elected are negotiating for power without having to make a stand. Bush is still trying to sell his if you don't support me the terrorists will kill you spiel. And our congress is going along with it. It's bullshit! Hillary and all the others that vote to approve this are as bad as what we now have in office.

  9. yeeah, it just gives us more of a reason to break against the system.

I don't feel betrayed. I knew what the deal was, the Dems. are less bad than the Repubs., so I voted for them. So far they have met the standard of "better than Bush."

Guy, it sounds like you think that realizing this now will prevent damage in the future. Do you have a plan?

What! you sadly believed that anyone in office anymore was actually in it for the people and nt in it for the money and perks? Better you learn now than later.

Yes folks. This is the latest Hipforum Exclusive! The Democrats are the people that care marginally better than the Republicans. Well, I guess that makes everything ok then. So it's back to listening to nurse Ratchet's shopping mall music and taking the tablets till our eyes close for good. What a waste!

When given two options, choose the better of the two. I restate my question, do you know of a realistic third option?

A brick wrapped around a newspaper makes a good third option.

What is to be done with that brick?
How will it end the Iraq war (the theme of the OP)?
