We are apart of something greater.

I've struggled with this idea for a while, and i've often changed/modified it, and i really want to get some feedback from other people.

I really believe that we are apart of something greater on both physical and spiritual levels.

On the physical level, we are bodies. Within our bodies are various organs and nerves which all coexist in harmony to preserve our livelyhood. Every organ, stream of blood, vein and cell are all unique, all of which serve a small purpose on their own (a vein allows blood to circulate), but what's of more importance is the greater purpose which these parts serve (the vein allows blood to circulate, which allows for our heart to function, which allows us to live).

Now, think greater. The earth is our vessel, we reside within her boundaries. The veins of our human body are like the rivers of the earth, the minds of our bodies our like mankind to the earth. We are here, physically in order to help sort out earthly problems, not to cause conflict amoungst eachother. We have a responsibility to facilitate and manage earthly problems, just as our mind sorts out bodily problems. What destruction would occur on a bodily level if various portions of our mind faught with one another over trivial subjects? Even worse, what if portions of our mind brutalized other portions of our bodies in order to achieve pleasure? We, as the collective mind of the earth, have done a poor job in serving the greater cause- our responsibility to our vessel. We are much to attached to personal conflicts, and in our inward focus we not only neglect, but destroy our vessel.

On the spiritual level, although this level is harder to explain due to the fact that spirituality is not exactly tangable, I have to believe that we are a part of something much greater.

In our own lives, we use prayers, mantras and meditation in order to praise the creator, or bring us closer to our maker. Some of us use marijuana and other herbs in order to bring us closer to the spirit.

Overall, could it be that the spirit and creator we are worshipping is using us, how we use mantras, prayer and herbs in order to heighten his/her/it's spirituality? Each of us could represent a simple prayer in the view of the spirit we worship. So in this case, we are holy beings, created in order to bring about heightened spirituality to our creator. What if when we said a prayer, various syllables or meanings faught over who would come first or who would be emphasized most? It would surely hinder our spiritual growth. Therefor, we need to be kind and compassionate to eachother, being spiritual tools of our creator. We need to serve as spiritual tools, helping our creator to advance to his/her full enlightenment. Once this is achieved, all will be bliss. Think of the prayers, thoughts and meditations Jesus Christ or Vishnu or any religious leader practiced. These prayers and meditations worked so well within these individuals that religions have been created around them. Thus, the prayers and meditations served there purpose, reaching bliss. We, as prayers of our spiritual leader will only reach bliss when we learn to coexist in order to create a perfectly melded cosmic religion, placing our creator where he strives to be, at full understanding and enlightenment.

I know this is pretty far out, but I think it makes sense. If someone else could either affirm this or add to it, i'd be grateful.

Just to bring up a point about this (I did infact read the whole thing unlike the n00bies who posted before me ). " We are here, physically in order to help sort out earthly problems". Thats only true to a point because if we weren't here, our planet earth would be much better off then it is now. I know someone's going to respond back with a "but if we were never here in the first place, there would be another dominant species that would take our place". Thats pretty much impossible for me to even venture a guess at so I can only speculate that earth would be much better without mankind. Also, I'm not saying that the human species existing is a bad thing, I'm just saying that we, as a whole have a natural tendency to fuck things up.

 

I think, we are viruses, and we have infected the earth, and are spreading to other planets (mars) to infect more and more. We aren't helping only destroying. For example: Enviromentalist are the white blood cells of the universe, while people who use and kill resources are the spreading virus.

So we are part of something bigger, I beleive.

I think the only reason we are here is to destroy the earth. Were like a little bomb fuming and all the toxic gasses we release into the ozone is our little explosive and some how or other, we ignite it and blow everything to shit.

 

i think on a spiritual level all of our energy circulates between every molecule of this physical plane as a universal consciousness of understanding and growth without individual ego. we are part of our creator, fueling its expansion by growing here on earth.

but think further...your perspective seems to be coming from someone who views himself as a tiny part of the earth, when in fact, the earth is but a tiny grain of sand in the uni(multi?)verse. the situation on earth is inconsequential in the grand sceme of things.

i disagree about your thoughts on 'creator'. your post indicates that 'creator' is living thing with an agenda which it works through us? i can't agree with that...but maybe thats why i dont believe in diety worship either....

 

too bad we pollute our world/"veins" with waste...

 

We live to die, and that's it. We are as insignificant as a slice of moldy cheese that will be dumped in the trash, never to be eaten.

 

Perfectly put TNS. We are biological things that will spawn, work properly for a while, and then expire.
