do i have to use it when im back combing or can i just backcomb and not use the wax cause i reallly hate wx, ill use it once my dreads are establishe, but i really dont want to use it to start them
Oh man! stay clear of all wax always. the hinder the dreading process by glueing the hair together and stopping it from moving around and knotting. plus ive heard lots of cases of wax never leaving a dread and causing mold. i would stay clear of it, seeing how wax makes the hair take longer to knot up.
not totally true k boy wax breaks down after a month because its biodegratable(sp?) and u dont need wax
no wax, seriously.... no wax has ever touched any dread that I know and they are so big and fat dreads!!! Good luck with the dreading process....
thnx, we did it last night hahah it was horrible my poor best friend!!! haha 6 hrs of backcombing and palm rolling, no wax, haha my hair was huge at the end it still is not so much though, i can twait for it to go down and it starts knotting!!!!!
cool i hope that you dreads take you through an amazing journey of patience and cool dreams. Beads and stuff are really cool... you can put them any time that you want. My old man has tons of beads in his hair and some of them have been hiding in there for 5 years... his hairs ate them. I'm so glad that you didnt use any wax!! The side show bob look will go away soon too!!
so.....at least how long does your half to be for dreads? and could you explain this backcombing procedure really detailedy cuz i want dreads without wax also....my cousin got dreads more than a year ago and i think he waxed 'em but im not sure, so sad tho, he couldnt keep them held back for his job at starbucks so he had to completely cut them off.....
www.dreadheadhq.com or www.knottyboy.com has good backcombing instructions. I started mine at about four inches. The back came in naturally.
well, im scared shitless to wash them!! there a week old and im scared to death!! haha everybodys like, so, ye wen are they gonna be oober noticable? ahaha kinda gettin on my nerves, is it normal for them to not be so noticable at first? when are they gonna start looking well ya know? there already starting to knot up som though mostly in the back, the fronnt is freaking e out cause i see loose hairs and some are seperating at the roots ahhhhhhhh is this normal?"??
chill 3 or 4 monthsts and they will look "you know" ya lol.. dont be afraid they will come a part some but its normal juss palmroll and spray a lil saltwater and lemon juce on em and wait another week
chill and be patience Just like knotty suggests palmroll them... i constantly do it and don't even know I'm doing it... rubbing them all the time... patting them calling them names "nice dreadies" just like you would to a plant to stimulate it. The above post sounds perverted but it isn't really
haha ye im always catching myslef palmrolling, i think its become an obssesion lol, ye there not as fluffy since i slept on them, and starting to take shape again, its just that i get so paroaniod that im doing something right ya kno
Yeah, I think it's totally normal for them to start to fall out a bit before they really start to knot up. Especially so with finer hair. I didn't get past that part last time. But, from what I've read on the boards this happens ALL THE TIME and it doesn't last. It takes a few months for them to really knot up good and a few more before they look really good. Dreading takes time, and I think that's why people love their dreads so much. lol Just think, eventually they'll reach a point where you won't have to worry about them so much. hehe *hugs* Jessie
