The other day I had an interesting encounter with a wasp. It was outside on a window I was looking out of at eye level.

So I looked it in the eye for a few seconds. Then I tapped the window right under its legs to see if it even noticed me. It showed no reaction so I tapped it twice more quickly and firmly.

Immediately after the last tap, I watched as it quickly flew off about 30 feet into some tall grasses.

As I start to turn away, I see it coming right back towards me, full speed. It hits the window full force with a bang, right in the same spot I tapped my finger, exactly!

Then it backs off and does it twice more just as hard, same spot then flies off. I was dumbfounded for a few seconds. Did I just see that? I tapped it 3 times, it tapped back same number of times. They can count!

This after direct eye contact. Damn those wasps are amazingly well armored. I know how hard it is to kill one and I've been stung a few times. Owww!
