I've had my dreads for about 3 months and have yet to wash them with water. What is best to use? I see alot of ppl talk about sea salt and lemon juice. I was wondering is that just for the hair or scalp too? And is it best to use a dread shampoo right along with the sea salt?

please dont tell me u used wax too
    sorry
hair needs to be clean to dread right
    wash it every week
wash with plain old dr bronners
id use the tea tree oil i bet the itchies are driving you crazy huh?
i wouldnt use the sea salt till u wash them at least 3 or 4 times & thats only used as a rince after washing then rince it out
only do that every 4 washes or so at 1st then slack off to very rare

nooo no pictures please... not till u wash them!!!

im really thinking that if he thougfht dreads needed to be dirty then he probly belkieved the wax lie too & has all sorts of gunk all caked in there with so much dirt & grime
i hope he dont live in a city or anywhere hed be exposed to extra grimmey conditions, who knows what might be in that hair
wow i mean i go crazy whenever i go over aw week withuout washing mine (at almost 5 feet they can be a chore to wash) if for some reason (im out in the woods or whatever) i cant wash em for 2 weeks , then washing them at the 1st opportunity becomes the most important thing in the world to me
    3 months? id go insane

i wonder..if hes never used water on them, never washed them.. how exactly does he have dreads/? i know mine only really knots immediately after wash em

yea im thinkin hes got a head full of wax.. candles not dreads

    WOW...
I've only had my dreads a little over a week, almost 2, (just got my dread shampoo in the mail yesterday afternoon--no shops around here have it, that I know of, or I don't know what else works) and I am dead set on washing them tonight... I don't think my dreads would stay knotted well, if I didn't wash them asap...my hair is getting so oily that they don't seem to want to stay very knotty right now..

not to mention, I don't think I can go another day with these itchies!

    I CAN'T WAIIIIT to wash mine. :)

I'm kinda curious.. how's your hair looking after 3 months of not washing?

But if you haven't in 3 months. Dr bronners all the way :D
