Was this woman really stupid or am I looking too deep into this?

You're right that ha-Satan originally meant any accuser, but by Jesus' time, for certain sects of Jews, it was understood to mean a particular accuser--the figure that made his debut in the Book of Job as a kind of prosecutor in Yahweh's court. Jewish storytellers combined this figure with the story in Isaiah 14 suggesting that one of the angels rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven. Add to this the snake in Genesis and we have the anthropomorphic figure we know as Satan. They personified the power of evil and gave him many names: Satan, Belial, Mastema, Beelzebub, Prince of Darkness. We find this view in the Dead Sea scrolls by the sect we know as Essenes--at odds with the Temple priests and heavily under dualistic Persian Zoroastrian influence. The Pharisees, whose name may, like that of the Parsees in India, be a reference to Persia (the Persian region of Fars) seem to have held similar views when they said Jesus cast out devils by Beelzebub. We don't know for sure how much influence these sectshad on Jesus and his followers, but my guess is considerable. https://tannerlectures.utah.edu/_documents/a-to-z/p/Pagels99.pdf
