And yes, it sounds like a recipe for disaster, STD-wise. Why not having some nice very low lighting, so everyone looks good but you can at least visually be sure there's a condom there, which has been put on properly, before you get at 'er? Better safe than sorry, I say.

this is true. condoms only protect against so many things and can only go so far. if you're pushing up against some herpes, i guarantee a condom won't save you.

Again, you better be careful (if this is even true) cause the clap, herpes, vaginal warts, might find their way to you and build a home. You can't be careless nowadays waaaay to many diseases and being a hippy as nothing to do with anything.

 

Your post brought back some not-always-pleasant memories of my wild-and-crazy days in the late '70s when I was exploring the gay side of my sexuality by frequenting the now-defunct gay men's bathhouses in my native New York. There were as many as 20 of them in Manhattan alone by 1980. And each had a completely pitch-black orgy room. You literally couldn't see your hands in front of your face -- let alone anybody else.

Yet even then -- long before anybody knew about HIV and AIDS -- I refused to go into those rooms, for one simple reason: I refused to fuck with anyone I couldn't see. Truth be told, the most deeply closeted men -- many of them married -- frequented those rooms, obviously not wanting anyone to recognize them. To this day, I feel sorry for those guys. Such was the tyranny of the closet back then.
