This is a thread to post albums you own/bought and then thought, "What the Hell was I thinking! This sucks!" (tell me I'm not the only one who's ever done that ) Or a band you thought were going to be okay, but turned out awful. Warn the rest of us now. I'll start by warning people not to buy an album from the band "Pink Grease" . Why I did in the first place I can't figure out, I guess I needed to balence out the other great albums I got this weekend. Anyways, the one song is okay, but the album is lame. Why the fuck did I get a disco/punk album anyway? God only knows. But please, don't do it. Buy some Bob Dylan instead!
I bought the new radio head album, I guess I'm just not used to their music, but the intros to all the songs sucked so I just tossed it for now.
That Radiohead album is awesome, but it may not be your style... If you got "Hail to the Thief" that is... It just grabs me, though... The album begins with the distorted feedback of "2+2=5," which builds to a climax of noise and explosive rhythms. It is followed by the delightful "Sit Down.Stand Up" and the ethereal, disconnected "Sail to the Moon." The album returns to rocking form with "Backdrifting" and "Go to Sleep" and moves on throughout the selections... I love that album... I denied my inner Radiohead fanatic for like 5 years... But they are definitely one of the most important bands currently playing...
I thought hail to the thief was pretty good besides a few fairly lame, mediocore songs. As for radioheads Amnesiac. . . I would describe every song as fairly lame and mediocre.
The thing is because of all that random noise before it gets to the songs on Hail to The Thief, it just turns me off, makes me not want to listen to it, but I'll listen to it sometime.
Oh yeah, another album, The Damned-Music For Pleasure. It has some good songs, but the rest are rubbish.
"Music From The Unrealised Film Script Dusk at Cubist Castle", by Olivia Tremor Control. It's just a tedious, embarassing, hourlong John Lennon impression.
Oh gods too many to mention but for some reason I have loads of scorpions and micheal shencker group albums:& Theres a lot more mostly from my metal loving youth but they are repressed in my memory
I hated it, apart from 'White Rabbit' and 'Somebody to Love'. I know its just generally regarded as one of the great albums of the 60's, it just wasnt my cup of tea.
Green Day's new album sucks pretty bad. I'm not going to say don't buy it, some might dig it, I just think it's shit.
