Okay just a little experiment...lots of people who are completley against the war believe in the right to choose abortion. Why is that? The war has killed not even 3,000 Americans in 3yrs and abortions kill 3,500 babies a day! People who go to war chose to go, unwanted babies did not choose to be aborted. I use to believe in abortion unitl I saw the stats. Maybe people would think more about having unprotected sex if they didn't have the option to abort. ANyways the point is lots of people are dying in Iraq this is true but the deaths are nothing compared to the deaths by abortion, so why is it okay to kill an unwanted baby (living human being) and it is not okay to kill someone who is fighting against terrorist who will stop at nothing to destroy non-followers?
A fetus is not a person it has no rights. Its rights depend on the living. In addition, low-income parents commit most abortions because they cannot afford children. There are enough poor children in the world why bring more to suffer and struggle? Life is not that great. Moreover, condoms fail.
"Inquiring-mind" So what is a fetus? I would love to know! Not all abortions are by low-income parents. Some are from selfish people who don't want a child, some are from drunk women who had sex unprotected and don't know the dad, point is not all condoms fail, if they did we'd have way more abortions then we already have. And yes there are enough poor children in the world but there are millions of people who cannot concieve. Point of the story is if your going have sex wrap it up, use birth control, Maybe we should put our-selves in the baby's postion...we go through a jouney of sperm and egg and then end up in a weird uterus, only to find that it's comfy in there and we like this life that has given us the opportunity to breath and feel and then we are sucked out of this comfort zone only to find ourselves denied of the life that we started to love. Sucks doesn't it, ya know when your mom gives you a piece of candy lets you lick it and then snatches it and throws it away
I don't think ending a pregnancy is the same as killing a person. If I put myself in the baby's position I would be a lump of cells working on forming organs and a body and wouldn't be able to conceptualize, ponder, or even be aware of my existance enough to realize anything let alone if something was given to me than snatched away. Life, as we know it, hasn't been given to me yet. As far as everyone "wrapping it up" - we can't operate in the world like we are all perfect people, we have to operate like we are the people we are. It isn't realistic to expect all people to be mistake-free during their lives. In a perfect world no one would get pregnant when they didn't want to or couldn't care for the baby, but this world is far from perfect. It is important that women have reproductive control in a world where there is poverty, pain, hunger, rape, incest, and war. We aren't an endangered species, not every baby needs to be born. There are plenty of foster and orphaned children who sorely need homes as it is. Not to mention, a woman has a right to enjoy the same sexual freedom as men and to choose for herself if she wants her body to carry a pregnancy to term or not. I'd imagine men would want the same right if they had the ability to carry pregnancies as well. A lot of animals terminate pregnancies when conditions aren't favorable. Humans have a lot more than just environmental factors to consider, and if conditions aren't favorable for you why be forced to bring another life into it? Edit: Just to add, I am not exactly anti-war, however, so maybe your point doesnt apply to me =P
I think the point that some are missing is that we take advantage. True we make mistakes but some use abortion as a birth control. What is sexual freedom? running the risk of disease and pregnancy? What if the man really wants to keep the kid, it is half his creation. For every child that is orphaned there is someone who can't have children. What if conditions aren't favorable? What if they are? If conditions aren't favorable why is the person preganant? How do you know how it feels to be in the womb? Our purpose is to take the dark of this life and make it light. A child is a gift from God. If you don't believe in God, a child is still half of you. When you reject them your rejecting yourself. We don't know the joy the child will bring until we introdce them to the world. We have to stop making excuses 3,500 babies a day is insane. That is to many "mistakes"
So what's it gonna be like when we have 3,500 unwanted children being born into the world every day? How do you know what it feels like to be in the womb? We've both been in the womb, do you remember what it was like before you had a brain? I don't see how having an abortion is rejecting yourself, even if the half the DNA is yours. Everyone has to come up with their own answers. No one can answer every "what-if'" you are looking for here, there are an infinite amount of answers for them. These are individual decisions, individual circumstances, and individual people. I just personally think that the last people that should be having babies are the people that don't want them. If our society is going to force these people to carry through with their pregnancies than we had better be prepared to care for the life that results. That means healthcare for every child, parents who can care for every child, and foster homes and orphanages as top notch as any surburban home. We can't expect to force people to bring children into the world and then forget about that unwanted child now that we're happy our ideals are being met.
I don't support either. That said, it is other people's decision about abortions. Not everyone believes fetus's have rights. They do what they think is best. I wouldn't have an abortion (although I have had a miscarriage) nor would I kill someone in as a solider. I am pro-choice without that being my choice. Peace & Love
Why someone would get an abortion is irrelevant, if a couple is not ready to have a child then they should not be forced. If the law is pro-choice, everyone wins. Want an abortion? Then get one and if you do not want one then do not get one. Fair, straight, and simple. Women have ownership of their bodies; I have no right to tell a woman what to do. She is one who has to go through pregnancy and the pain not me. Anyone against Abortion is probably on religious ground. In addition, if that is case then it is god's will if a fetus is aborted.
I am agreeing with you, here's the thing 3,500 mistakes a day? There are numerous reasons, abortion should not be a birth control. Maybe if we didn't have the option to abort after we just had unprotected sex then maybe we wouldn't have unprotected sex! I personally believe that people don't think to hard about it because they know they can fix the problem. "So what's it gonna be like when we have 3,500 unwanted children being born into the world every day?"-you said We wouldn't have that many unwanted children a day because if we didn't have the option to abort then two people to every child wouldn't have unprotected sex, they would think about it first...this is my point we are not thinking!!
Word unless you are willing to pay more taxes to care for unwanted fetus or send them to prison once they commit crime.
"If the law is pro-choice, everyone wins. Want an abortion? Then get one and if you do not want one then do not get one. Fair, straight, and simple." Is my point not clear? We are taking advantage, we are not looking at "fetus' as anything but "cells" We wouldn't have so many abortions if more people thought about the risks of unprotected sex
OK but the other question that must be asked is this. How can a person say abortion is wrong and then say war is right. Either killing is something you can do or it is something you can not do. Damn fundamentalist always forgetten' their fundamentals and sheit
hahaha a first for me. but that is my gripe. I'm not so much concerned with what a person believes but that they are true to what they belive as best as they can.
Fuck taxes we pay taxes for everything anyways, what every "unwanted child is gonna be a criminal? Plenty of wanted children fuck up an go to prision, we don't know what they are gonna do..who knows once the child is born it may change the parents
Exactly how can you say war is wrong because of the killing and then turn around and say abortion is okay because your not killing a "real" person? life is life and death is death if you want life then you believe all murder is wrong there can't be a double standard
If there not ready why are they having unprotected sex? It doesn't feel that much better maybe for the guy but DEFINETLY not for the girl believe me, sex is sex, it is supposed to be for reproduction...not for pleasure
Oh for pete's sake... Sex is sex, and for us it isn't supposed to be for anything except what we make it - and we have made it far more than simply for reproduction. We are more than instincts, the human species, in case you haven't noticed. We are all kinds of things. You are simplifying something complicated (and not just sex, but this whole thing - abortion, war, and why one may be pro one and anti the other), and life certainly ain't simple. Besides, you nor your religious ideals get to make all the rules for sex...thank god...
