I'm 17, and I only know of one place where people I know get pipes and stuff, and that's some indian deli near my house. So, from your experience do they usually card you? I assume so. Would the only way to get a piece be to get a 18 year old friend to do it? Also, do I have to be 18 to buy a lighter too? That would be kind of stupid..and if so do they usually card for a lighter? thanks
You have to be 19 years old over here (New-Brunswick) to buy smoking paraphernalia legally but I've never seen it enforced. Me and my friends have been buying pipes and bongs from various headshops since we were 16 and only got carded once and even then the shop clerk let us have it once the store cleared out of other customers.
It is highly dependant on the particular shop. I would just give it a go, the worst they'll do is tell yoou to get out. Lighters are 18 and over, also, at least in my state. You can try buying one of those long BBQ lighters because they don't usually make the connection.
while there are non smoking purposes for lighters, most uses involve smoking tobacco which you have to be 18 to purchase. I don't think its that stupid at all
ah ok cool thanks. Well, I mean, yeah lighters are used to light a cig, but also used for other things. I could need to for a project, or to burn insence. But yeah I guess I see why they don't allow you to buy one under 18. Anyway, I went to my local walmart after school and they didn't card me for a pack of 5 lighters. I guess it's because the cashier was a foreigner..lol
I bought a glass pipe in toronto, and I'm 17 (you have to be 19 to buy cigarettes in Canada, I don't look 19)... didn't get carded or anything. But, y'know, thats Toronto. I would just go try to buy one. If they card you, just say you don't have ID, but you're 18. The worst that could happen is they don't sell it to you.
go for it, its not like they are gonna arrest you for trying. Worst case scenario they tell you to get the fuck out, but who knows maybe they will just sell it to you. I rarely get carded for anything anymore except beer, but i have a pretty large beard so that definately helps a lot
i hate smoking with matches. one entire fuckin box last about half the session. maybe the people giving away free matches know that smoking with matches is so fucked, that they dont have to worry about people smoking with their matches.
Hmm on the conturary you can get a ticket for trying to purchase things without ID when you are underaged... I suggest you wait... or find a eightteen year old willing to do it for you. I actually like smoking with matches.... less butane in my pot the better. Only problem with matches is they run out so fast and don't stay lit very well outside...
while you CAN get a ticket for attempting to purchase things underage, 99% of the time the store worker will tell you to leave and will not bother calling the cops.
Yeah, I'm almost possitive they will card me. It turns out alot of my friends are willing to sell one of their pipes, and will sell me one for like $20-$30. thx for the responses.
^^^they are for tobacco use too, legally you have to be of tobacco age, which varies depending on location.
