If you grind the walnuts in a food processor or blender, first mix them with 2 tablespoons of the sugar. This will prevent them from turning into a paste. 1/4 pound sweet butter, at room temperature 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup finely ground walnuts 1 1/2 cups sifted flour Confectioner's sugar. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar together until well blended. Mix in the nuts and flour to make a soft dough. Break off walnut-size pieces of the dough, roll slightly and curve into crescent shapes. Bake on an ungreased pan until very lightly browned, 10 to 12 minutes. Allow to cool completely, then dust with confectioner's sugar.
