Easy. No bags, no pollution. Plus we could still use our phones that way... You know for a nation that doesn't even have phones they're on to something here. It'll take the world another few years to catch up to their thousand year old ways but we'll get there. But I am expecting baskethead phase to really... shoot some hoops. Swish! 4 points
Another UK study, which only considered the climate change impact, found that to have lower global warming potential than single-use plastic bags: paper bags should be used three times low-density polyethylene bags (the thicker plastic bags commonly used in supermarkets) should be used four times non-woven polypropylene bags should be used 11 times cotton bags should be used 131 times" "
So as I said, what are you implying? We should use plastic bags as we always did? Or do you support bags made out of old jeans and coffee sacks etc? Because the way you word these things seems like you think ALL change is pointless. But I don't believe that's true. It is absolutely worthwhile pointing out to people that changes they've made might not be enough, but people jump on these studies as a way to justify carrying on as always.
No, what you said sounds good. Bags made out of jeans etc, stuff we would othewise just through away Those "resusable" plastic bags are bullshit, have ten times the plastic the old single use ones had, and I doubt on average they get used more than ten times. Cloth bags wont end up in a dolphins stomach, but they have a far higher environmental production cost, and often are coated in plastic anyway without many realizing it
I do agree with those points. Basically if there is a way to not produce something new from scratch, that should be the way.
Buy and use canvas bags for shopping. The war on plastic has been going on for ages. They end up in the drains because people do not dispose of them correctly. You look at the whole climate change debate. It’s a major part of it.
