Maybe I shouldn't have named the thread Winter Wonderland. Not everyone gets snow in their area. Just to clarify, it's just a place to post recent photos taken in winter.
It's been nice and sunny but near hurricane weather here lately, the winds are incredible. I was almost blown into the lake. The water was splashing over the edge, way higher than in this picture. The gulls and crows were circling over the water. The ducks were funny. They wouldn't get in the water! They sat in the big puddles instead. They started walking toward the lake at one point, but when they saw the huge waves splashing, they scurried back to the puddles.
http://www.furaffinity.net/full/5266939/ i've got lots of snow pictures that i like, but its been years since i've lived anywhere near where and when i took them. this one was from 1968 my most recent, not far from where i am now, was still a couple of years ago http://www.furaffinity.net/full/12213931/
Were you disappointed when you saw a horror movie? And BTW we're still waiting for new photos from you Northeasterners!
should have asked yesterday, it's starting to melt, or blow away, or something by now. seriously, it's been below freezing all day and the snow seems to be too heavy to blow much anymore, but it's going somewhere anyway.
lol Guess you were dashing here for a visit. Sorry, we have only snow to offer you. Take as much as you like! We're very hospitable that way here. Fine then, but they're nothing spectacular, I can't get out to get a decent shot. Two days ago everything was green (well, and brown), no snow in sight. Now we really are in a winter wonderland. Winter horrorland more like. And ours isn't going anywhere, we got more today in fact. If I travelled south in winter, this is the month I'd book. I never understand why people here go in November. (Reduced fares aren't enough of an excuse.)
Thanks. That's not the sun in the photo, btw, it's a streetlight, gone hazy through the foggy window. It was early in the morning before the lights were turned off.
I was sitting on the beach this week in bright sunshine, then a sea mist rolled in and the pier started to disappear.
Ky...Red river gorge. We normally have snow during winter, but this year has been odd. This is the first year that I haven't shoveled since I started when I was somewhere around 12 years old...I'm 48 years old now.
The ice on the water is melting, the paths are drying up. Before you know it, we'll have the spring thread up! (Yes, I am trying to convince myself.)
Woke up to more of this crap. They said a "dusting". Guess they don't dust often. At least it's melting quickly, with the sun beaming on it.
