The House and Senate both supported the bailout bill to fork over some 700 billion (and then some) to Wall Street bankers against the will of the American people. It seems they're more concerned about appeasing their corporate lobbyists than taking care of us, so we need to remind them they're working for us, not the corporate lobbyists, and the best way to do that is to vote against any incumbent who voted for the bailout. Here's a list of votes for the House. Here's a list of votes for the Senate. Note that both McCain and Obama voted for the bailout. I may make one exception and vote for Obama to avoid a presidential disaster, but I'm disappointed. You know what you gotta do come November.
It seems like we could vote out everyone who voted for the bail out including the candidates for president...
If only democracy worked as well in real life as it does on paper. When you vote at the federal level in the US, you're changing faces but not the system itself. Washington hasn't changed in a 100 years. Despite all the people who voted for change. x
Kucinich is da man, too bad we don't have him on the Presidential ticket, I voted for him in the primaries. I agree, but if a majority of voters can act in unison to send a message to these people, namely listen to us or get your ass thrown out of office, that's a start.
I plan on it. I plan on voting all incumbents out. People like Dennis I would consider reelecting. All others should be aware that they like the common working man do not have a job for life. If their positions are no longer guarranteed, then their lobbying leverage is nil.
