    ah...the glory that was Venice.......

seriously though, Vivaldi is an important figure in the history of western music, and perhaps the best of the Italian rennaisance composers. However - a lot of his music as we hear it today has been 'reconstructed'.
Still, some of it is highly listenable, and I often listen, with great enjoyment, to a few of his concerti.

    Vivaldi's amazing.

My favorite composer by far. I love Baroque music like nothing else. Vivaldi is fantastic. I love his Four Seasons, especially Summer and Spring. Also his oboe sonatas, bassoon concerti are all good.

I really need to listen to more then that, though.

Silly me! I was thinking it was written by Vivaldi, a mere human.

    1. He was a Baroque composer and had little to nothing to do with the Renaissance period
    2. As far as I know, he isn't that important to western music history, though he was a major influence to Bach
    3. Reconstructed in what way? Do you mean the Vivaldi scores people play today aren't written by the composer himself? I have never heard of this
