Just another Roll Your Eyes thread, but some of you relate well. Killing some time before work, so catching up on what ive missed since august(was at a busy school w/no free time). Came across a "no shoes in house rule" thread. Coincidence I read a few threads on here, 1 specifically talking about what they learned from covid, and screw it you only get 1 life and screw what other people think. Love how this forum builds my confidence with foot shyness as for i've come a long way past 2 years. I am starting to be barefoot around friends that never seen me barefoot ever unless by a pool, 1 friend at a time. Yesterday I had 0 plans and was bored, very bored. I got re-stationed to a prior duty station, and I have friends I haven't seen since I left 5 years ago. They invited me over to hang out. So I headed over there in my crocs, which my red white and blue crocs i love and where around the house, but Just my house. Yesterday was the first time I decided to leave my house in them, but it was too visit my friends. I had 0 intention of taking them off. Well wouldn't you know it, I rolled up, we hugged, I walked in their house and she turned around and said you can take off your shoes and leave them with ours if you want, and walked off. Years ago I would of been mortified lol. So I took them off and I was barefoot, it was nice, despite their kinda gross floors from the dogs and what not. Next thing you know, they want to go out for lunch- wasnt prepared for that. So there I am two birds with one stone, barefoot at someone elses house, and crocs in public. I still don't think ill be an actual "bare footer" but getting over the foot shyness slowly but surely has been excellent, while i was in school I found a nice hiking trail that noone uses ever, well I went out there and walked the whole thing barefoot as well, and that was the most exhilirating feeling ive had in a long time... which I need to do more often because ive researched grounding and that seems to really work. Off my soapbox for now Take care everyone..
You dodged a bullet there. Now you don't have to worry about a ruined pair of socks. These are so nice. I know a place like this, where I go to every summer for some private barefoot time. Cheers, mate.
Yes Sir, definitely a dodged bullet. I can remember when I was a teenager staying at a friends house, stepping in dog piss all the time and being stuck wearing a soggy sock because I was too shy/paranoid to take the damn things off. Not that walking barefoot into piss is any better. I think there is no greater feeling than being barefoot in nature, especially if the ground is wet.
