So I lost my virginity a couple of weeks ago and we didn't use a condom because I was on birth control/heat of the moment type thing/I'm a ridiculous idiot. Little did I know that I was supposed to be taking my pill at the same time everyday, soooo pretty much the BC was ineffective. Well, I've been stressing pretty radically and my period is a few days late. This is rather normal for me, even though I am on BC but there is like no sign of my period. I seem to have some early pregnancy symptoms, but maybe I'm just kidding myself. ANYWAYS, I took a pregnancy test today and it said I'm NOT PREGNANT. Now it's probably sort of apparent that my lack of period could be caused by stress, but I also would like to know if maybe since it was my first time having sex that it sort of did something weird to my sex organs or something that would make them not work the same? I really don't know of this happening, but it seems rather logical. Sorry for how long this is, I'm just really confused right now so if anyone has any information and/or advice I would appreciate it to a very high degree!

If you stress too much, your period will be late, or you will not get it at all..
some woman believe they are pregnant, and they will actually go through a "FAKE pregnancy".. their boobs will swell, and produce milk. they will gain weight and have no period...

dont stress out.. if the test said you ARNT preggo, then chanced are you ARNT preggo... ok.

Yes, it may be related to having sex, but no it's not something that would make your sex organs not work the same. Basically, any kind of change in your lifestyle can throw your cycle off, tho some women are more sensitive to it than others (I am very much so). So changing your eating habits, changing the level of exercise you regularly get (start/stop jogging every day, for example, not just adding one walk a week), stress, etc. can cause your period to be off.

With that in mind, considerably changing your level of sexual activity can throw your period off. I find that, for me, when I've gone for a long period without sex, then finally get some, OR when I am regularly active (at least once a week) for a while then have to go without, it throws my period out of whack. As crazy as it sounds, whether or not I have sex during the first couple of days of sugar pills (in bc pill pack) will affect whether I start bleeding on Sat. or on Sun.!

So don't worry and stop stressing!

Basically, always when I did experience a major step (sex related) my period was late. I think it was in a way a positive "stress". If you are still worried, maybe you should go and see a doc.

Before taking any sort of medication, you should make sure you read the guidelines and if you're still unsure, ask a medical practitioner. At the end of the day, all drugs are dangerous and should be understood before you take them.

It is possible you could be pregnant, but stress and worrying can also stop your period/make your period late. As can taking the pill, if you've only just started it. As others have suggested, if you are still worried or are unsure, then the best thing to do would be to go to see your doctor and get a test done or something.

i'm in agreeance with "fountains of nay" there about talking to your doctor about birth control. when to take it should be the first thing they told you.

but i had the same situation when i first lost my virginity.

my periods were always a bit off but after my first time they were very late so i stressed a little bit too. all was ok though in the end.

and what kind of pill is it?

Depending on the kind, the one can be off up until 12 hours, the other one max. 3. As far as I know the first one is prescribed more often.

But all of this info should be in the package info sheet.

It would also behoove you to find out what interacts with the BC, such as certain antibiotics.

My period was also late the month I lost my virginity. I think it was probably due to stress. (Although I did use a form of birth control.) If you don't get your period in a few days, take an other test. Often in early pregnancy, there isn't enough HCG hormone in your urine to make the test positive. And use ONLY FIRST MORNING urine, with contains more HCG than any other time of day. It is more accurate.

But you need to test again, if you don't get your period in a day or so.......
