I have really bad anxiety that's steadily been getting worse. I first noticed at the beginning of winter semester this year. I was sitting in class when I started getting this horrible horrible queasy sick feeling in my stomach and this feeling that i just needed to get out of there fast. After that it's gotten steadily worse to the point where just the idea of going to class or the store or other public place makes me feel uncomfortable and anxious. The last few days it's been terrible, worse than ever. I took some vicodin and I feel my anxiety greatly greatly reduced. I've noticed this a few other times I've taken vicodin. But I'm almost out and don't have a script for it, so I need to find another way to deal with my anxiety. Any tips for going to see a doctor for a prescription for something to help my anxiety? I've heard xanax is good. I don't have health insurance though. What would be the cheapest way to go about getting a prescription for xanax?
When I was getting prescriptions of xanax, it only cost me $25 for 120 1mg generic alprazolam at walmart without health insurance. That's pretty cheap. Other places were charging twice a much.
Well I'm going in like an hour to have an assessment with some guy from my college. One of my professors found out about the program and said that through this state funded program I could possibly get some free meds for my anxiety. Here's hoping to some relief! It would be a nice birthday present. I turn 21 today.
Thank you! It went pretty well. I talked to some counselor guy. Told him my symptoms. And he definitely agrees that I'm dealing with anxiety. He recommended a psychiatrist that I can see and he's going to check to see if the school will pay for it since I don't have health insurance. He said that maybe a few talk sessions and some xanax would help me.
drugs might be a short term help for anxiety but dependence on them will only make you more anixous over time
