http://www.petitiononline.com/l3g4liz/petition.html Please, sign this and get anyone you can to sign it. Salvia divinorum is not a drug, and should not be schedule 1. in my state (IL)there is legislation in process to put salvia on the same level as heroin, meth, etc. say NO! this is a severe infringement on our rights. we must act NOW! please sign this petition!
It's a drug, it changes your state of mind. Granted, it shouldn't be classified along with heroin, meth, and all that other shite... Really though, online petitions never work anyways.
it is not a "drug". like advil or aspirin or concerta or acetaminophen or methamphetamine or LSD for that matter. it is like pot, shrooms, cactus and every other plant. it not made from poison like meth. heres a new petition.
it's still a drug, just like any other drug--it exerts specific biochemical actions in the brain and body. just because something isn't a poison doesn't make it drug-free.
ps. ive not done salvia but it seems more logical for it to be scheduled than many other drugs that we enjoy
Well Schedule 1 just means it has no medical use, not that it is worse than any other drug. But yeah thats shitty, what a total stomping of your freedom. It dosn't hurt anyone, or was there some big public news story where someone got hurt on Salvia?
here is a better petition. it has 318 so far. i did not make this http://www.petitiononline.com/KSDL/petition.html
I've done Sally Diva four or five times, with the 5x's and 20x's extracts. I'd say a responsible thing to do (if our govrenments were responsible), would be to schedual this drug, but have a open mind to giving our licenses for it. Say for criminal minds, who need a life-changing medical aproach. Say for the old or the sick who have little time left to live and want to experince somthing new and insightfull.
There would never be a problem with it if they just made an age limit for it: 21, like alcohol. I don't think this is right morally, perhaps. But it would easily prevent it from becoming completely illegal. "it is not a "drug". like advil or aspirin or concerta or acetaminophen or methamphetamine or LSD for that matter. it is like pot, shrooms, cactus and every other plant. it not made from poison like meth." It is a drug like ALL of those things. There is no DIFFERENCE in a chemical being made by man or a plant. No difference at ALL. To suggest otherwise is to suggest that mother nature developed these plants to be used by humans especially. If you believe that, this is fine. But this is a RELIGIOUS belief, like it or not. And it really has no merit to bring into a serious discussion on the legality of these things. You also seem to have no idea about the chemistry of other drugs. Methamphetamine is made from shitty chemicals because people are cheap. If a professional at an institution developed it for research purposes, he would use only the best supplies, just like any other drug synthesis. When Joe Blow in his trailer makes it, he gets his shit at Walmart and Home depot. Blame the idiots, not the chemical. And are you suggesting that LSD isn't safe, while mushrooms are? How about DATURA? Eh? Rather munch on some jimson's weed than take a few safe hits of acid? Oh, and cactus is safe. What about when you extract pure mescaline from a cactus using OTC ingredients? These are the same things used in part of making meth. Is it suddenly a horrible unsafe disaster of a drug? No. You use your brain in doing these things, and you don't get hurt. I'm curious to see how you respond to the hybrid version of your fictional man vs. plant chemical morality. Every mind altering substance contains chemicals. These are drugs, by definition. This isn't a deep discussion that is open for debate, it is a simple fact. The differences in these drugs may be debated, but not the fact that they are drugs indeed. Sandoz made pure psilocybin in the 60s. Are you doing something dangerous by taking 20mg of this psilocybin than a few grams of cubensis containing ~20mg? One could argue that you'd know exactly what you're eating, as opposed to the possible dozens of alkaloids you could get from a mushroom. Not to suggest that a single one of these alkaloids is dangerous, just that you know exactly how much of what goes in you with a laboratory chemical. And yes, online petitions are worthless. Write your lawmakers, suggest alternatives, rally up support as best you can. It might be pointless, but raising attention at times like this is never bad.
by the way... DEA supposedly schedules drugs by their potential for widespread abuse. sorry, salvia doesn't quite have that potential. same with ibogaine and mescaline, both C-I hallucinogens. and nobody bring up the "dangerous drug" argument, because that's moot and idiotic; the drug most detrimental to society is still widely available and legal. more proof that the "war on drugs" is just a political witchhunt.
salvia is one of the only substances that ever really scared me. I didn't like the skin crawling feeling (that's its effect on opioid receptors, it's the opposite of heroin), and feeling as if I was going to die...extremely humbling. many people don't get an effect like that, they claim it's bunk or doesn't work, because they pussyfoot around, and don't vaporize/inhale a good amount.
No offense, i support your efforts, but I really don't think that anybody will take an online petition with signitures from 318 kids looking to trip (at least that is what they think of anyone that supports keeping salvia legal) into any consideration whatsoever.
yea i have never heard of an online petition ever working.. actually u very rarely here of ne type of petition working... but still, i was waiting of saliva to become illegal soon ne way, it was only a matter of time
