I posted about this in another part of the forums, then realized there's a Body Modification area! Anywho: So, I'm really interested in getting a Christina. I believe that's what it's called? Anywho, I've been looking into it, and it looks really nice. I was just wondering if others had this piercing, and could tell me anything about it. How painful was it? What was the healing process like? Where did you get it done? etc. Anything. I'm also wanting to make sure I have someone a little more specialized in genital piercings do it, but I'm having difficulty finding anybody in my area. (This is the reason why I'm posting this, actually.) Does anybody on here, by any chance, know of any professionals in Ontario?
Hmm... I would love to know some info on this as well... Been wanting one for a long time. Honestly, I'm too scared to do it.
I have a few piercings, but I personally would not get these done, just a personal preference. I do have a friend that had a VCH and Christina piercing done. She said the VCH was a breeze, just a sharp pinch and that was it. However she says the Christina hurt a great deal, and she was in considerable pain for several days afterwards.
Pain isn't too much of a problem for me. What is the healing period, recommendations, etc. I actually don't think I have the anatomy for it, considering a large vein runs through that area but, I'll find out either way.
While Christina's are considered one of the more painful piercings (genital area notwithstanding) the biggest factor is the amount of flesh that's got to be penetrated. The healing process is often a bitch and a half. One wouldn't expect that area to see much movement but it does, the irritation from both movement and sweat can lead to complications and surface piercings are often tempermental. Also friction from your underwear and pants may give the jewelry a bit of tug and pull which is never a good thing in healing piercings. The area can also get a little stifled and allowing the wound to breathe is important. I'm often told as well that hair can be an annoying factor with this piercing. More often than not these piercings considered long term temporary, like microdermals. The best thing you can do before getting this done is research, research, research. That's how I decided that the Christina just isn't for me.
If you are referring to the province of Ontario in Canada, check out thrive studios in Cambridge. Great place, very professional in all aspects. I had my Prince Albert done there and my wife had her nipples and vhc done.
Based on wiki: "The piercing usually heals in 3 to 4 months, but as a surface piercing, it can lead to complications during the healing phase. Further difficulties develop due to the relatively long piercing canal and constant movement and friction. In addition to being susceptible to infection, the Christina piercing may also wash out" It's a cool looking tattoo and could be fun, but I dunno if it's worth it.. Update if you end up getting it!
Interesting, I didn't notice anybody ever replied to this! If I ever get it, coming here and updating will be the first thing I do!
