I was wondering what vegans have in between their two pieces of bread, I have butter and cheese usually, but that is getting boring. I doubt I will ever go totally vegan, but would like to cut down dairy from my diet. Also I have cheese everyday and as I said that is getting boring, anyways thanks for reading. Peace Sam
I like peanut butter & banana sandwiches. I also like Amy's burgers & Boca burgers. or you could try grilling a slice of tofu spread guacamole over the top garnish with onions & tomatoes if u like those put in onion roll or bagel instead of bread for something diferent
I usually have (not all in one sandwich haha) Marmite, Jam, salad and vegan mayo, vegan meats, and other stuff that I can't think of right now. Most sandwich filling I can usually get a vegan alternative of.
7 min 5 min prep 2 pieces of sliced sourdough bread 2-3 tablespoons hummus (store bought or homemade) 1-2 tablespoon sun-dried tomatoes (oil packed) 2 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese Toast bread. Spread hummus on both pieces of bread. Spread sundried tomatoes on one piece of bread. Put cheese on the other piece of bread. Put together and microwave until cheese melts. ***************************** I realize u called cheese boring but thought this sounded good
Tempeh made into various shapes, tofu, soy cheese, salad (mostly) including spinach, watercress, peppers, onions, whatever i can squeeze in! There are tons of vegan sandwich things. You can get mock meat slices but im not a fan at all
Tomatoes! Cucumbers! Grilled squash/eggplant! This is making me hungry! I rarely eat a whole sandwich though... I usually do the open face thing and top it off with a couple fat lettuce leafs. Two slices of bread (I use heavy, whole-grain breads always) is just too much for me, and I like to be able to pile those veggies on.
Tahini and Jam... Hummus With Bell Peppers and Cucumbers.... Grilled Veggies Drizzled With Olive Oil and Herbs.... Tomato With Vegan Mayo And Black Pepper...
if you have strong bread: leftover roasted veggies that were marinaded overnight (try: Italian dressing, olive oil and apple cider or rice wine vinegar, lemon juice and crushed mint) or for packing a lunch, have the wet veggies in a sealed container separate from the bread (I find a typical "sandwich box" and a wrap N mat are a great pair for this. http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?CATID=69729&PRODID=10014892 http://www.wrap-n-mat.com/
Lots of veggies and sprouts and hummus and avocado. Cheese and butter sandwiches??? That doesn't sound very healthy or tasty
If you to go the blogs section at http://www.veggieboards.com there's a really good recipe for mock tuna salad.
i put italian dressing, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, pickles, and... vegan turkey!!it's the greatest ivention ever made for a vegan.well, besides soy milk.but it really is great.you can find it near the vegan cheese(which i also put on my sandwich)
