Hey Everyone: First of all, I have to appologize, I'm sure this has been talked about here before... but I cant find much info on it. Anyhow, after a year or so... I've decided to bite the bullet, and pickup a Vaporizer.. Mainly, as the kids are getting older... I need something that just doen't smell up the house anymore. Now, I've looked around, and found that there are lots of different kinds... They range from $80 to $600.... Now, I'm looking for something "decent" (not the cheap soldering iron in a glass type), but.. also just can't spend $600 on this thing... Do any of you have any good recomendations? I've seeh the hapy vappy, and others... but have never tried? Is the quality different from one to another? Is there something I should look for in a vap? Is the high as good as burning the bud? Is it easy/quick to use? Thanks everyone Peace Socratez
Hi Socratez, Recently I picked up the Vaporcanon from Vaporwarez, and I would reccomend it highly(pun intended, too ). The service online was incredibly polite and supportive, the Vaporizer got here in 2 days, and it is pretty easy to use. There are a few tricks of the trade that I can explain if you get it. Anyway, it cost about 140-150, but if you use it well, it may eventually pay for itself in the weed you save. If you want to know anything more about it, let me know.
i like the vapor brothers band i have a regular version but have heard good things about the vapordoc - a hands free version, and u dont have to readjust the temp evrytime i heard the vapir sucks and is a waste of money i think theres a lot of new stuff out on the market now, so i'm not sure if anything recent is worthwhile, but definately take a look at the vapor brothers.
Yeah, vapor brothers is great. It is around 175 (the model i used) and did smell somewhat, but the scent passes quickly and it works great, 5 or 6 hits will get you nicely high (if it's decent weed).
First off... let me say, I absolutly love hipforums!!!! Thanks guys, you've just save me some $'s... I called up a local shop today, and was gonna pop in and pickup a vapir tomorow afternoon... (they kinda looked cool, and thought it would work well)... After seeing your posts... I did some more searching, and yea.. seems its ranged way down there... thanks a million for the heads up guys.. Im gonna try and locate a vapor borthers model somewhere tomorow... I would rather not go mailorder... and hopefully should find one soon... I'll post and give an update as to how it worked,,, etc.. Peace Soc
Get the Vaporcanon from Vaporwarez. It's the upgraded version of Vapor Brothers, that they were mentioning.
What exactly are the pros and cons of a vaporizer? There has been substantial discussion about this within my group, and I must say, we've reached a bit of a standstill.
Vaporizing marijuana or tobacco decreases the amount of carcinogens and tar that is inhaled. Most of the carcinogens are only created when the plant matter is burned, with a vaporizer it only heats the plant matter to a point where the active ingrediants turn to vapor and can be inahled, but does not burn it, releasing all the stuff you DON'T want to inhale. When burning the weed, you actually destroy some of the THC (so I hear). Because of this, you can actually make more out of your stash, because without burning it, all of the THC remains intact. The only con that I could think of would be if people really enjoy the act of passing around a joint. Also, if you still live at home with your parents and have to leave the house to smoke, you won't be able to bring the vaporizer with you. Hopefully I told you something that you didn't know already...
First, I don't believe the Vaporcannon is an upgraded version of the Vaporbrothers vaporizor, I don't think the companies are linked in any way.. But I have to reccomend the Vaporbrothers as well, I went through shop after shop and picked this one, it works wonders. After ya get it, P.M. and I'll let you in on a few tricks I've found.
Basically everything conceptual about weed is up for discussion, really. I mean, you can say you know the science or whatever, but you know, there's still like, you know, passing around a joint. I've also heard that you destroy some of the THC through lighting it. I've also heard (and experienced) that a cherry produces less carcinogens. Mainly because the cherry isn't as hot as a full on lighter. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass, I dunno. I just really like taking cherried bong hits. In fact, I think my favorite word describing weed, after "dank", is "cherry". One con I thought of was the price...I mean, it seems like the advantages outweigh that particular con, but still, just thought I'd keep that on the table. Since you need to heat it to a certain temperature, there's really no point in making your own vaporizer, then...? You couldn't accurately get to the boiling point of THC without going over the "boiling point" of the plant matter...
Well um... They aren't really boiling points, more like combustion points. And the THC compounds are going to combust at MUCH lower temperatures than the plant matter itself, leaving a decent sized acceptable percent error. So, yes you could make your own vape. I'd suggest the infamous light bulb.
i've been wanting to buy a vape myself lately, but with never trying one, i didn't really know where to go. paintballer, i know you've pointed me towards the vaporbros, but let me say this. just a week or so ago i tired a vaporizer for the first time (it was a volcano) and it just wasn't the same kinda high. i mean i didn't really feel that high at all, and i took like 6 or 8 big hits out of the bag. also the kid who owned this told me the vaporbros used more weed than normal smoking and basically was not worth the money. i think i'm gonna have to trust you though, because there's no way in hell i'm paying $500 for the volcano. i need to get a credit card to order online is the real problem.
Thanks guys... Yea.. and the pro that acctually has me going out to pick one up is the smell factor. My kids are getting older (oldest is now 13), and will be able to tell the smell of weed soon... The vaporizer gives off a "popcorn, or pine" smell from what people say.. something like that, plus an open window is much easier to mask than burnt weed... Finally, I have also been lead to belive that vaporizing is much healther than smoking... so hey... I think its worth the $'s spent... as long as it works.. Anyhow, I'm serching shops for the above recommended models.. and will let ya guys know what happens when it arrives. peace s
Yea, that was one of my biggest worries... Do you get just as high from a vap as from a pipe? Some say you get higher, others say its the same, and Pork.. you said it was worse eh?
Ok, bit the bullet, and here is whats comming: I picked up the vaporcannon (hands free model). yea, I'm lazy.. and it just screemed "cottage". Anyhow, should arrive in a few days, maybe week or two... And any pointers are always very welcome... Thanks again for all your help guys. Soc
Once you get it, let me know if you need tips. There is definitely a learning curve involved with it, but if you get the hang of it you should be pleased.
Thank you Caterpillar for all your advice.. you acctually saved me a few dollars, and frustration... I almost grabbed a "happy vappy" or a "vapir"... Anyhow, yea, just got my confirmation email from the vaporhut (ebay)... and the guy is saying 5 days to Canada.... Acctually, what supprised me most is this store is selling only selling vaporcannons (handsfree and standard), and what I find mind blowing is they have about 432 @%100... so I'm assuming there are a lot of other happy coustomers using this device... Anyhow, I'll email ya when it arrives... Peace Soc
