How much valium is considered a recreational dose and how much is dangerous? My friend just ingested 40 mg of Valium orally...I think this seems to be safe, she'll just fall asleep or something. Is this true? Or is 40mg of Valium dangerous?
Suppose it's a tad late to respond now. In the future there are pharmacies open 24/7 w/ at least one trained person who can answer questions such as this. There's also something called a PDR in adition to web sites. However the best sources can be found in an ER especially if the question revolves around potentially lethal dosages/ combinations.....
Should e fine, have they taken it before? If not 40mg will probably just knock the person out. They will have a good undisturbed sleep though.
i took 17 5mg valium one time. thats 85mg. i was fine. but it was shit. i was just in my room. and it just clears all your memory of even doing it really. not a fun dose at all. i didnt feel ill though. that was with no tolerace either. dont know what i was thinking, but i took them in lots of 5, waited maybe 15 minits.
The thing about benzodiazepine drugs is that the ceiling on the high is not that high. Taking too much will just make you sleep and get amnesia. More than this won't be dangerous (excluding extreme mega doses and some combinations) but a huge waste of the drug.
astroneurologist . Taking a large amounts of Benzo's can kill you ass real fast. You can OD on Valium and other Benzo's People OD on Benzos all the time. Don't think for a second that you can not OD on them ? It will be a fatal mistake !!! astroneurologist- I can't belive you think that the worst thing that can happen to you from a large mega dose is that you will go to sleep and black out, Yeah sure you will go to sleep and Black out forever that is !!!! Don't ever tell anyone that taking large mega amounts of Valium is alright because it is far from alright. I can't belive you wrote that !!! Dam that could kill someone ?
isnt the OD amount for valium somewhere up in the thousands of mgs, i did 40mgs of valium and it just chilled me out..
Benzo od's are not very common but what is common is Oding on Benzos when you mix them with other drugs usally other downers like opiates, Alchool, Sleeping pills, etc There have been alot of people and a few I have known in this area who have ODed and a couple have died from mixing Xanex with herion. I would not worry to much about eating a few benzos every now and then to get nice, But what I would worry about is taking Mega doses of them and mixing them with other downers. Smoking pot id one thing and eating a few valiums but you should not ever eat benzos then go out and drink or do opiates real bad idea !!!
I know they are dangerous and overdose is possible. My point was that compared to other drugs the LD50/therapeutic dose ratio is high. Now if you booze on them that is no longer true.
recreational dose of 10 to 50 mg is fine ... might make you fall asleep though, keep in mind that Valium has a half-life of 36 hrs, as compared to 12hr for Xanax, which means 36 hours after ingesting the pills 50% of the stuff is still coursing through your system making you feel basically out of it .... good high but it's an old drug
hey all i took 150mg tramadol around 4:45 then 18.75 mg of hydrocodone around 6:15 then I just took 30mg valium at 8:00 do you all think that is ok. I know it is not smart to mix benzos with opiates but I figured it was spaced far enough apart. Ill let you know how it turns out.
