I'm so stuck for ideas this V day, I dont know what to make my s/o to make his day ... any ideas / what are you lovely ladies doing for your s/o's in the craft department?
in the new issue of Knit.1 magazine, there's a pattern for a knit heart - not one of those cartoony heart shaped hearts but a human heart with valves and everything... my husband thinks that's cool so I'm going to knit him that, plus knit the letters 'I' and 'U' so it'd be 3 pillows readying 'I {heart} U'... that's the plan. If that doesn't pan out, that is, if it's not done in time, I'll finish it for his birthday (in june) and will have to be more creative for valentine's day... but for now, that's the plan.
Iv been making dichroic glass memory wire chokers with 'made with love' on the back of them, not obviouly valentines but still :-/
cute idea, drummin! One of the first valentines my hubby and I had together while we were dating, for some reason we decided to make each other a gift. I had found a heart shaped baking pan in my cupboard and had made him a heart-shaped carrot cake (his fave) decorated in cheesecake icing and whatever heart-shaped candies I could find. If ya really wanted to get o.c.d. about the pizza idea, I was thinkin', you can cut all the pepperonies into hearts too...
I have been wanting to make roses from Hershey kisses...I've never tried it but they look so pretty. There are instructions all over the net, but here's one. http://www.wedcraft.com/kissfavor.html
You can do like little cakes on a heart shape ... or like buy the small angels that we put on Xmas tree's but with out there wings and do red wings on shape of a heart and stick it to the back of the angel
Even tho its nowhere near valentines day, I was struck with inspiration this morning! We have tatoo ink jet paper, and I was thinking of printing out tiny hearts with my sons classmates names on them this year for Valentines day (Its also his birthday) It would be a cute gift they could wear right away on their hands Last year we used red foam crafting paper to make hearts and used black foam to put the first letter of their name. My son decorated them with glitter and pom poms and we cut up old magnets and glued onto the back. His teacher still has the magnet up in the classroom So much more practical than little paper cards that just get tossed out!
