precum does contain sperm. Yes, enough to get you pregnant. Condoms should be used from the start of intercourse until the end if you want to avoid pregnancy. Using it only halfway WILL NOT prevent STD's either

you "don't think" he has an std? Jesus, that's scary... both of you should go get STD tests asap. A lot of std's dont' show symptoms for a while, or don't show up very much for the guy but can still be very worriesome or even incurable (like herpes). GO GET TESTED and get yourself on some good, reliable birth control if you are going to be going condom-less

    Damn straight!

Not to mention the fact that some of those STDs that often don't show symptoms for quite some time can make a woman infertile (forget which, clamydia maybe?).

You may well be putting your life in this guy's hands (how many years is average now before people move from being HIV+ to showing symptoms of AIDS?) -- how much do you really trust him?

IMHO, using condoms halfway is like withdrawing right before cum.

A friend of mine did the condom before he came type thing and now has a lovely 3 month old baby.

You should put it on just before you have intercourse.
the way you have sex at the moment is totally fucked. You must be happy shagging then he says ohh im gonna come hang on, (puts condom on) ahh back to it yepee. What a pain just whip it on before getting to it - much easier all round. not to mention the fact that you might have caught something. Go and get STD tested and get free condoms and make sure he puts them on.

You can never trust anyone 100%, what if you have the tests done and he / she shags around then again, you cant demand to see someones results either... the best anyone can ever do is ask.

With that in mind, dont put your life in someone elses hands, its up to you to protect yourself from babies and diseases, if you care about one another you should stay safe or be prepared to accept the possible consequences

yeh your all right it was pretty stupid of me to be dong this, i guess it was naive to think just because we are in love i cant get stds, but the thing is it feels so nice without a condom, more real & natural if you know what i mean, the latex kind of irritates me a bit. but the last time i tried going on the pill i had a migraine that hospitalised me, my freind has an implanon (the arm implant) she says its great but i dont know how safe these things are as they quite new.

The only sure fire way to make sure you don't get any STDs or get pregnant is to not have sex at all

Are you shitting me, that's like using the withdrawal method

Never, ever insert penis without condom if you don't want to get pregnant

Condoms are only 80% effective as is

An old wives tale here. Precum DOES NOT contain sperm. Precum can transmit STD's, but if you are both STD free and mongamous, perhaps you can consider other, more effect, means of contraception.

You are completely wrong. You posted no evidence. Any medical practitioner who has a valid license would bitchslap the hell out of you for not only ignorance, but spreading it. Next time you make a post like this, include backing other than a moronic statement.

I DO work in healthcare, which is how I know. There is no sperm in precum (unless the male has ejaculated within the previous few minutes and not urinated since then).

The links you post are just that. Links. To information well out of date compared to what is available in Australia and the UK and the rest of the Western world.

Links are evidence, sources. You have none. You are simply bulshitting and allowing this person to make a mistake. You going to tell her withdrawal is an effective means too?

You should be fired from whatever you do in the health community simply from these two posts. You need sources, and you have none.

There is not an abundance of sperm in pre-ejaculatory fluid. There is a small, however significant amount which can get a woman pregnant.

My husband and I have been together for nearly 10 years, and he always puts a condom on right before he wants to climax, never before that. We play around "bare back" until he's ready. We have never gotten pregnant from doing this, and I am highly fertile. Every single time we didn't use any protection whatsoever, I became pregnant. (I've been pregnant 4 times, I have three children, two of which are twins, and I also had two miscarriages)

Would I guarantee that pregnancy is definitely NOT going to happen by doing that? No, I can't do that. But from my personal experience, it hasn't. Would I recommend you use this method? No. You might be one of those who end up pregnant from it!
