Using a cross for worship is idolatry

The cross is not scriptual, so why so many of these things everywhere?

Why hate an inanimate object?

They don't worship it they use it as a symbol for the crucifixion of Christ, who they do worship.

I think you mean that you think Christians are rediculous. A cross in itself means nothing.

 

No, that is not what I mean. If a cross means nothing, then why is it on top of almost every Christian church?

 

It's a symbol for Christ.

No one is worshiping the cross itself, it's a representation of Jesus.

Like a Mercedes badge for the Mercedes. It's not the actual car, it's just the badge.

 

still an idol..why does a a Mercedes need a badge for? to show it is a Mercedes..just like Christians who need an idol to show who they are..the bible many times warn against idols.

 

It is not the cross that is the idol it is Jesus himself.

 

Jesus was not even executed on a cross..

From growing up in a Lutheran Church. I used quotations to show that it's not necessarily what I believe, but it's what members of the church would say.

 

Do you drive the badge or do you drive the car? The badge means nothing without the car it represents.

 

I don't suppose it would change anything.
