I keep saving my old guitar strings thinking I'll come up with a use for them, but I still have not. Any ideas? You folks are brilliant when it comes to this stuff.

    Peace :)

They make excellent wires for hanging heavy pictures on walls.

Also I have an old autoharp, and depending where they break, they can often be used on that.

They are made of metal though, so perhaps they're recyclable.

The beads on the end are brilliant for threading. If you use d'Addarios, then you'll get coloured beads! Although they are a bit dim. but on most other strings, you get normal brassy colours, which will make funky beads.

As for the strings themselves, I dunno what to do with them. But the suggestions so far are great!

All the ideas are great, thanks :) I'm glad I kept alot of strings. It's funny bead ideas were mentioned, as I was just thinking of how I need to get something with beads. Thanks again.

    Peace :)
