This thread is not unlike the trip shitting thread, but I have a couple other questions. I was wondering if anyone noticed an increase in frequency of urination during trips? Its almost like Im drunk when I'm tripping, I need to go piss like a little less than once every hour. Perhaps this is due to the fact that my sensation is increased and I just notice the need more? Also does anyone else get insane time loops during urination while tripping? Some of the only loops I've had were during urination. One time it felt like at least 15-20 minutes of standing over the toilette. One more issue I have noticed is a pain once the last drops come out. I have NEVER experienced any pain in my urethra any other time other than once or twice during tripping. It's strange that a drug that has so little effect on your body can have so many effects on your body lol.
I think LSD tinkers in the C nervous System where the Pee control is kept.. kinda like when you release your pee on your own and get chills. This is because yourSELF has overridden the switch to release, the shiver is a nerve reset.. When Im tripping I feel the urge to pee, but dont want to pee if there isnt anything in there.. This I know. I stay hydrated when tripping..
All psychedelics cause muscle tension which can cause increase in urination due to pressure on the bladder . . . and lsd has TONS of effects on the body!
I guess that clears things up. The extra urination could be due to elevation of sugar in blood. Also you can get hypothermia from dosing?
Dunno if it makes me go pee any more than usual, but I try to pee often, cause when I dose with my bf, we get so silly and laugh so hard that I almost pee my pants!
Whenever you ingest any sort of toxin or poison or foreign substance that has some detrimental effect, your body will try and clear it out of your system by increasing the amount you pee!
Yeah, but the OP was asking about LSD, which is none of the things you mentioned. LSD has zero (0) detrimental effects to the body. none at all, zip, zero, zilch. LSD-25 is literally one of the physiologically safest substances consumed by humans. Much safer than the cocktail of coffee and white sugar many people consume daily. To the OP, yes that is a very common side effect, don't concern yourself over it.
I have yet to take a psychedelic that did not make me cold during it's effects, it's a pretty common side effect. I usually stack layers and shiver when I'm tripping.
But do we mean full on intense hypothermia as a possibility? Like when people fall through the ice and get hypothermia?
"hypothermia" just means "low temperature", it doesn't say anything about the degree. You're not gonna eat mushrooms and be found dead in your room frozen to death at room temperature it's a very slight lowering of temperature, but could be an issue tripping outside in winter for sure
Not exactly right Mr. Writer. LSD raises the body temp by about a degree or two. What you are experiencing is the result of it also being a vaso-constrictor, constricting the fine capillaries of the extremities thereby resulting in the sensation of being chilly, but your core temp actually increases as a result of LSD ingestion. Combine that with the lowering of blood pressure and you get cold hands and feet, etc. But all these effects are very slight and you get more pronounced and dramatic somatic effects from a cup of strong coffee. Remember that the major cause of death or injury from ergot poisoning was gangrene from the effects of ergot being a vaso-constrictor. All ergot derivatives share that quality, and is actually why the are used in medicine.
I thought you said that LSD had no detrimental effects???? The LSD in your system will be deposited in your bladder. Your body excretes it to return to normality, it views the substance as detrimental. If it didn't, it would treat it as a nutrient and store it. Your body tries to avoid reabsorbtion (which is possible through the bladder) by making you piss it out. Hence, you pee more. 1) Don't contest my post when I'm right 2) Don't contradict yourself.
:smilielol5: *sniff* *sniff* Is that troll I smell? I certainly hope so, because otherwise your a very unintelligent individual. What is detrimental about a slight rise in temp? The vasoconstriction is also very minimal and about on par with the degree of constriction that occurs when you take a walk in the snow. It is really only noticed by some individuals, such as Mr. Writer. The deaths I refer to are from times when fields of rye would get infested with ergot and then that ergot would make it's way into the bread. Given that bread was the main staple for many people during the middle ages when most of the major outbreaks of ergot poisoning occurred, it's easy to see that those people got major doses of ergot. Sorry, I assume you know what ergot is, but in hindsight, probably not. Ergot is a mold that grows on rye grains. It contains lysergic acid from which LSD is derived. Other ergot derivatives are used extensively in medicine for things such as migraine treatment, hemorrhaging during childbirth, etc because of the vaso-constriction. (A. Hoffman was working with it to develop new medications when he stumbled upon LSD-25) So going by your ill-informed logic, H2O is bad for you because every time you drink water it makes you pee. Do you have any idea or comprehension of the multitude of toxins you consume daily in the foods you eat? That is what the liver and kidneys are for, to filter toxins. You don't pee more when you eat vegetables do you? Many vegetables contain naturally occurring toxins. Nowhere did I contradict myself, your just an idiot. And I always challenge and contest posts made by dimwits with no rational sense or education. I already have dealt with one dipstick on this very topic in the past in a public debate, I really don't care to waste my time and energy on it again. I'll give you the link if you want to see how utterly wrong you are about LSD.
Aah, such a concise and eloquent rebuttal to my post. Just the type of response one would expect from an individual who knows absolutely nothing of the topic at hand.
Well, since you insist on being block-headed, let me try and chisel away at that block... First of all, I didn't mean to insinuate that LSD was poisonous or toxic, I totally agree when you say it's one of the safest chemicals you can take, nobody is disputing that. It comes under the "detrimental" part of my first post. Some people - your body certainly does - would consider, in some situations, the fact that it affects your brain so much as to alter your perception of reality as detrimental. Secondly, anything that constricts blood vessels or lowers the blood flow, unless for medical reasons, can be considered detrimental. Third, the slight raise in core temperature you describe, certain enzymes in the body perform in a very narrow temperature range, any higher or lower and they cease to function, some die altogether, meaning you have to produce new ones when conditions are right again. Fourth, because of the altered perception and intensity or said altered perception, some people are psychologically affected in the long term. I really only picked you up on it because you said something like "zip, zero, zilch, nada" then went on to describe some detrimental effects, if only very slight. Also there is a school of thought that viwes the psychological effects as solely detrimental. I said you've been taking too much acid because I knew it would get up your arse, seeing as how arrogant and obviously pro-acid you seemed after reading your post. And yes I know what ergot is, having eaten my fair share of stilton. Do you evenn know what stilton is? Probably not. See how arrogant that sounds? Granted my 1) and 2) were pretty arrogant, on reflection. lol Too much water in your body is detrimental to your body, hence it will demand that you pee more. Can we be friends now? I didn't mean to offend the big bad acid guru, I was just applying my understanding of the human body to the OP's question.
Again your response reveals your lack of knowledge rather than a possession of it. penicillium roqueforti is NOT ergot. (that's the stuff that gives it the blue viens) As far as your whole logic concerning the functioning of the human body and what is detrimental.........well let's just say you should drop it while you only have one foot stuffed into your mouth. Also there is a difference between arrogance and education. I responded the way I did because I know what I'm talking about on the topic of LSD. You may take it for arrogance, but it's just confidence. Oh, and your comment that I take too much acid didn't get up my ass, it just showed you have nothing of any substance to actually add to the conversation.
Oh, I always thought it was ergot in blue cheese, god knows where I picked that up, thanks for clearing that up for me. Let's just say for my logic concerning the human body, since I was answering the OP's question here and you still haven't provided a reason for the increased urination - prove it wrong, educate me. Maybe give the REAL reason behind the increased urination..? I have no problem with being proved wrong because I can learn from it (I no longer know the blue veins in stilton as ergot) but all you've done is insult my logic, not give a valid reason for it being incorrect.
Oh, also, LSD apparently causes uterine contractions, detrimental to pregnant women. Your logic that LSD has no detrimental effects is severely flawed.
