It's about time I posted some photography in here, I thought I'd start with an exploration of a mental asylum.

The 'Deva' was erected in 1829, it was basically built as prison for people suffering from serious mental health problems. Back then we didn't understand psychology or have the medical savvy that we do now. It was charmingly called 'Lunatic asylum building' when it was first built and is actually the original building where the 'Countess of Chester' hospital is now situated.

Cheers man, I've been quite busy lately, I'm working for a portraits company which involves a lot of traveling so I've been sneaking off with my camera to take pictures of derelict buildings...nearly been arrested a few times, nearly fallen through floors, breathed in some nasties and been convinced that a ghostly presence has been hanging around...I'm not sure about posting the Denbigh Mental pictures just yet, but I will be posting others shortly :)

Where abouts in the uk is this place? I've been to some of the abandoned asylums in South London before. West Park is always a good laugh...
