So I was watching a bit of "marketplace" with my mom, which is an investigative show on consumer issues. The topic was the Canadian Heart and Stroke association, who put "healthcheck" symbols on alot of food products to let people know that they are purchasing healthy foods ..... The main journalist and host of the show speaks to a rep from Heart & Stroke about why their foundation upholds this one standard and not Health Canada, the rep replies that this is because they want a more objective view and science based, which is what they do. Obviously, not all the foods are totally healthy with which health check symbols appear on. If anything, what I learned from being a director on the stunt union board at my old retarded college, is that know matter your position, you need to uphold a certain image about your corporation when being interviewed. I was never more ill fitted for anything in my entire life. The rest of the directors acted as if they were some professional execs, whenever we were interviewed by the school newspaper, it was this huge deal. And even if they disagreed with certain activities within our little corps, they would give generic positive answers to questions asked, upholding this standard of image. Barf... So basically, we cant trust organizations and I dont know who to trust. Like, how ridiculous. When you are part of a big company, whilst there, you are not an individual. FYI Ive had a drink and felt passionate. Okay go:
Corporations own the world these days. And to put it bluntly, they live by their own rules, for their own agendas, and have little regard for the rest of us.
I can't say this surprises me. This is one example of numerous deceptions. At least you are smart enough to question it. Most people eat up everything they are told and believe the lies.
I just cant do something like that....but it does leave me so confused in life. I feel like there is no truth. On one level, with these corporate agends, but on a secondary, deeper, level, often I feel like there are no universal truths, I get lost finding any. I feel alot better these days about the latter, but still.....i know nothing!
An agenda that is to gain more power... Of course nobody within considers that by putting so much power into the hands of a few, they are only serving to make things much much worse for themselves and everyone else *except* those in power... Money is not power, the true shot callers can make money worthless without so much as a flinch... to have 10 million dollars in the bank is to only have the *potential* to get something, the money itself is worthless. Money is what we are made to fight over while true and reasonable goals are ignored - allowing for things to happen as they have. To stop the move towards America INC we have to stop focusing our lives around hoarding small pieces of paper (or as its heading, credits)... Power is given, not taken.
Truth is, you are there, now, and I am here, now, and there are lots of people where they are now, and in the next moment we will all be somewhere else, or dead. Anything more is just guessing
It still is more objective; the government food chart recommended eating much more meat than is healthy for a long time to help subsidize the cattle industry.
Well, this is true, your are correct. And I am gla they do it this way. Its just PR. PR people are nuts.
Most of the News you see now is written by PR people. Press releases make up much of the Newspapers. Very little is verified in the media anymore. Stories are also planted by the owners of the media companies to meet their corporate parent companies agendas.
whoa nelly. they recommend way too many grains. they dont' recommend much meat at all....atleast in the US
A sad reality those who gobble up said stories are mostly unaware of. Would be nice if everyone remembered verification can only happen somewhere between the ears...
I dont trust any corperations. Theres always an ulterior motive by the people who advertise something, they're trying to sell it. People on TV take advantage of people like i do on friday nights (jk) anyway, i think TV alone should not be viewed seriously, unless your watching Discovery Channel that shits sick.
Such reccomendations should be regarded as the useless suggestion they are... the government has no place telling me what I should be eating... total waste of my money.
It's all a cyclical wheel created to feed the war chest, the government assists the corporations in taking in more money-wether legal or not-and then turns the tables to put the squeeze on America's citizens....and yes, it is worldwide these days, but especially bad here. Like cranky said, money is useless, it's the ability to create more power that keeps corporations running.
a corporation is technically a separate identity. so while you work for it, it doesnt represent you - you represent it. in a partnership or private ownership, the company is a facet of you. a corporation has its own identity (and thus little to no personal liability) but honestly, you have to uphold your business image regardless of what kind of business it is. image and reputation are of great importance in the business world
