    UPDATE! NASA discovers a new form of life! Bacteria found in Mono Lake, California are unlike any other lifeform found on earth previously. Based upon arsenic, the lifeform means that life can be present in a much wider range of environments and planets than previously thought!

    I hear they got an extraterrestrial tweet saying "Prepare for our arrival!"

    Their next tweet will be "Take us to your leader, Sarah Palin."

    This is because she's been watching them from Wasilla and communicating with them.

    If it were something that serious we'd already know about it.
    Honestly sounds like NASA fighting to stay relevant to the public with budget cuts looming.

    Science reporting seems to generally go like this:

    Science: Hey, we've found evidence that may point to a possible thing existing that would be in line with this set of predictions, which could suggest some interesting possibilities.
    Science reporting: Alien gods found on Mars to cure cancer!?!?

    My guess is this is related to the arsenic-metabolizing microbes found in Mono Lake.
    Fun fact: Their DNA doesn't rely on a phosphorus backbone.
    Probably one of the greatest discoveries within the past century.

    thats funny because i was just watching "the day the earth stopped" last weekend. where an alien race comes and realizes the earth is a piece of shit because of all the violence. if i was them i wouldnt even make contact with earth, fuck that. maybe thats why we have never met aliens yet, that is, if there are aliens
