That is how I'd categorize the behavior of my recent and former boss. He hired me for a job at a local furniture store. I worked there for a week, and when I came in one day, the assistant manager took me aside and told me that the boss had decided that he wanted more full time employees (not me), and that I was essentially laid-off. The assistant manager apologized profusely and said that there was nothing she could do... The boss had handed down this decision and then left the state for two weeks of vacation. I'm glad that I'm not working for this jerk. Just a couple of things piss me off... #1- I had just quit my old job to take this one, and I was given no notice of being laid off. I simply am unemployed as of this week. Fuck It. #2- The boss left town the same day that he laid me off, so that there could be no discussion. Then he had the assistant manager be the messanger of bad news and do his dirty work for him. What an asshole. So I am jobless for the holiday weekend. Lovely. Afterwards, I shall be out scouring the stripmalls yet again for some dead-end service job to hold me over until I complete my major and begin my career. Fucking work
Yes, actually that is what I am thinking. I would not have wanted to work at a place that treats their employees like that, anyway. This situation is motivating me to work on the things that really matter. Hopefully being unemployed for awhile will help to focus my mind on mindfulness itself...until I go broke...haha ok, deep breath . . . . . . . . . there we go, much better
