In another thread, my right honourable friend mentioned if Ireland were included in the Union Jack. I replied that Irish and Welsh flags do not play any part in the formation of the Union Jack. As a Welshmen, I wonder whether my fellow countrymen approve of this and also whether the Irish members of the Celtic clan approve that they too are not a part of the formation of the Union Jack. What would the Union jack look like if Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland were all featured? Hoping that someone can produce this in photoshop or something. What is so "Union about the Union Jack when us Welsh and our friends in Ireland are not included? Why is it that Scotland and England are it seems the only Union of Great Britain? Should we redesign the flag or destroy it? I find the flag to be contradictory because as everyone knows, the flag of Great Britain is the union Jack and Great Britain includes Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. Surely we should show true Union by including Wales and Ireland. So what are your views fine countrymen or all in Great Britain? Additional: I am not someone who likes burning flags but if a flag gives a contradiction to a Nations true being or state then surely it must either be burned or redesigned. I go for the latter.
its actually called the union flag. i believe it is only called the union jack when on a navy ship...correct me if im wrong! all 4 countries should be included but it is such a traditional image and so well recognised and established i find it very difficult to imagine that it will ever change to include wales and ireland.
"Take down the Union Jack, it clashes with the sunset And put it in the attic, with the Emperors old clothes" BB
They should shove a huge picture of Y Ddraig Goch in the middle! Gall y fucking Season casanu fy pen ol mawr tew!
i don't know what you said, but i sure like the way that you said it... sorry, hillbilly yokel country song that came into my head.... my only input is that i think it's a pretty flag.
Now that simplistic class definitions are outdated and we're all basically middle class I'm not sure there's that much worth fighting for ... Branston pickle maybe, or frozen TV dinners? Waitrose do some nice veggie ones
the union jack pants makes an excellent pair of golf pants... saw one of the brit golfers on tv with those... can anyone get me a pair and send em to me?
There are three classes. Most are middle class but as I am unemployed, I fall into the lower class. Feel like a peasant sometimes Union Jack. The only Unions in the flag is Scotland and England. If I were to design a flag, it would feature four flags in one. Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England.
Once I am in work, then obviously I am reclassified as working class or Middle to upper class. I don't like the class system in Britain but we learn to live with it whatever class we happen to be. We all dream of being upper class. Someday I will have Champagne for breakfast, lunch and dinner
The "working class" doesn't exist any more in the traditional sense of people being born into a certain caste and being unable to do anything different with their lives than their fathers did. Compulsory free education and free healthcare mean that we have more opportunity than any generation before us to do what we want to do and what we are capable of doing rather than our whole lives being dictated by our birthright. That's not to say that massive inequalities and prejudices and problems still exist around all these issues, but old notions of a fixed class structure have become inaccurate and unhelpful.
giz a job.........and dont be fooled by people who say the class system does"nt exist .........fuckin blind cunts .......yer can stick yer polo up yer fuckin jacksees ......if yer need to try and getta ball between two sticks with a club theirs something fuckin wrong with yer....... put the snobby bastards in a block of flats on the top floor lift not working and give the cunts £57 a week to live on then knock on their fuckin front door and tell them theres no class system .
