are ya alw genuine saying "i love you"?
i mean...have ya ever said this just to seduce a person/out of compassion or just because ya do not attach much importance to such a phrase?

what does it mean for you?
how often do ya use it?

It may also be the case that a person is not quite sure of his/ her feelings. He/ she may truly mean it when saying "I love you" at some moment, while later this may no longer be the case. Feeling are really ambiguous and hard to be understood.

I never said ' I love you '. I am not really comfortable with all that emotional stuff and expressing my feelings...not even towards my family or friends. Its just not me.

I've only told one person I love them in a romantic manner. I would not say it unless I meant it. Saying it to seduce someone is just fukt up. I've told Kari I love her so she would feel comfortable in saying "no" to sex and to let her know that I would wait for her, which I did, and it was worth the wait. I would also never have sex with anyone I didn't love. Kari was my first and will be my only, hopefully.

I've also told friends that I love them, even some friends on the forums, and I meant it. "Love" is not a word I use lightly. I love weed, for example:spliff:

I love you should always be sincere imo:) It always has been, for me

The "love ya" stuff is between me and my friends...but even with them its usually "i love you". Because i do love them.

:agree:Truly Meaning It Depends On So Many Different Things In Life, Friend...But, Every Time I Have Ever Told A Friend, Family Member, Or Stranger That I Love Them, I Can Personally Say That I've ALWAYS Meant It : )) Love Can Be A Very Complex, Involved Emotion; Or Very Pure And Simple.

some people insist on expecting to be told that, whatever you're feeling or not feeling about them or anything else. this actually irks me somewhat. the more so as i have always considered life too short to waste by not being scrupulously objective.

i do, in a sense, love everyone. in the sense of not wishing them sadness or to remain ignorant of how to avoid causing suffering to others and to themselves. but saying the words, and expecting them to be said, has to be some kind of an ego thing.

generally if true they are superfilous, and if not, well if the're not the're not.

i think what people usually mean is "i want to hug you" or "thank you for hugging me back". i wish i lived in a culture where people felt, and could safely feel, more open about honestly saying THAT instead.

If someone says they love me chances are I'll just say "Cheah I love me too"
If I dont do that then I just say it but you can tell I dont mean it.

When I say it I usually mean it (and for some reason I fall in love easy :( )... but with one of my exes, I knew he was in love with me and I had just gotten out of a relationship... and I guess I just wanted to say and hear it because I was hurt inside... so I told him I was in love with him... I felt really bad afterward.

I am careful about who I say it to. Especially in romantic relationships. I know when I really love someone and when I am in love with someone and I am not going to say it anymore unless I feel both of those feelings. I am going to choose to only say it when I really mean it. So that it has meaning. But that doesn't mean I don't say I love you. I say it to my friends but my four closest family members the most. I have this one annoying friend who says it everytime we talk... what a way to cheapen it. I know they are just words but jeeze.

Oh and when I'm drunk I say it a lot but that doesn't necessarily count ;)

i have a hard time telling someone they're my FRIEND, much less "i love you." hell, i was best friends with susan for years before i told her i loved her. my family isn't affectionate, and we're high sticklers for who we give our friendship to, much less our love. there's that charitable love that's totally different, though. most people can get a piece of that.
