There are some things in the Bible that do not make sence to me. I must warn you, unless you are very comfortable and sure about your religion DO NOT READ THIS. I am not trying to convert anyone's religion, just stating some facts. These are the ideas that made me stop believing in a God. I will respect the believers at all times in this post by not putting anything offensive in it. For instance, if God created Adam and Eve and they had two sons, Cain and Able, how did they have children without having sex with their mother? Wouldn't that be incest and isn't incest a sin? One answer I have found to this problem is that Adam and Eve had more than two children, they in fact had seven. This included 3 sons and 4 doughters. But if this was the case, they would still have incestual sex to reproduce... Another is that God did not only create Adam and Eve, He infact created people all over the world. If this was the case, how would they get to each other and why would they not include these people in the Bible also? Another problem in the Bible is if God created man and man did not have any kind of written word until much later than this, how did people know about Adam and Eve? If God created the universe, what was there before the universe? Why would God create such a vast universe to only make life on one planet? If God is the only higher power, why do other religions exist? Shouldn't people all just know that there is one God? These are some of the ideas, I will update this post with more on another date. Please explain how there can be a God under these circumstances. If God is real, why does he not visit his creation that he loves so much? If God created the earth in 7 days, why is it taking him so long to create a place for each of us in heaven? (sorry if i mispelled it, i am a bad speller) I believe that God and the Bible were created by a man , Jesus, to help explain why man is here and to give us guidelines to live by to keep the world from going into complete anarchy. It gives us something to believe in and to look forward to so that we do not spend our time on earth doing nothing. It gives us something to be afrade of to keep us from doing stupid things like murder. I believe that Jesus was just another man that believed one thing and wanted other people to believe it also. If you really examin Jesus and his followers, he is in no way different than any other colt leader and Christianity itself is in no way different than any other colt. I will admit, I am fearful in believing what I believe. I want to believe that there is a God and that we can spend all of eternity in a heaven. I do not want to believe what I believe and be wrong and spend forever in hell. And if you think about it, this is what Christianity wants you to do, it wants you to fear the unknown so that you will always believe. It wants you to keep quiet abot what you are thinking so that you will not go to hell. It and other religions only exist to make us follow guidelines so that we are not punished by a higher power for what we have done. This is what I believe and I think that for believing this I should not be looked down on in any way. All I have done here is state facts and my openion and view on things. It is hard in this time and age to think that there is a God/higher power for me. I am sure that everyone has had these same thoughts at one time and were either to afraid of what other people would think or what God would think. I have decided to take my chances on going to heaven or hell by thinking these ideas 'out loud' and I will have to live with this decision. Thank you for your time and thank you for reading this whole post. I would appreciate your feedback and I would like to believe again.
i don't think it was meant to be like this, you'd always get your mavericks that felt different and spoke up. Jesus was one till ppl forgot what he was saying. It doesn't stop there being a higher power when religions have caused doubt about that. The truth would keep being discovered and lost and found again. This mirrors the soul's spiritual journey of discovery. It's like you can walk in any faith and be without one as the heart is judged. There's plenty of cool stuff to discover about God! Mazz
The first chapter of genesis and the first four verses of the second chapter are one story written one way. The language used in that portion doesn't exactly match the language of the rest of the creation story. The chapter and verses were divided up several hundred years AFTER the death of Christ and were NOT in the original manuscripts and the devisions often times are arbitrary. The word used for God in the first portion is Eluhim. Starting at the fifth verse of the second chapter it is Adoni Eluhim...or Lord God. If you look at the content of the two creation stories (firts chapter and second chapter) you will see two distinct story outlines. First Chapter...god creates man (plural) after THeir image and blesses them and turns them loose on the world. Second Chapter...God creates a man (singular) and places him in a garden to keep and tend it. First chapter...man (men) are the last step in creation. all other creatures are created before man. Second Chapter...man is created first and the other animals are created after him. Finally the men in the first chapter are blessed and told to be fruitful and multiply. They are given dominion over the earth. Second chapter man is sent into the world under a curse for dis-obeying God. It is all probably aligory anyway or it reflects two distinct traditions or schools of creation myth that were melded together at a later date.
who's to say that all the other religions were so awsome. The land abraham originally inhabitited was said to sacrifice babies to their god.
I'm not even Christian and find that statement retarded. The "bible" existed waaaay before Jesus. The Torah at least, and The Gospels werent even written by Jesus.
we just don't get it. think about it, man created religion. not to say that its all false but nothing is what it seems. trust your soul
