so i just got a knock on the door. it was maintenance people coming to read some meter in the laundry room. never had them come for that before (at least when i was home) let me tell you how fucking trashed my appartment is at the moment. TONS of dirty dishes. two loads, at least. in the sink, on the stove on the countertop, on a table.....tons of empty beer bottles everywhere. not to mention a few old liquor bottles. dirty clothes, books, cigar wrappers, an ashtray with cigar buts in it..... i scrambled to clean up contraband before i let them in. spilled bongwater on the floor.... thought i got rid of everything. then i remembered the vast number of seeds in plain sight on top of a cigar box. and papers out in a few places. and when i let them in to the laundry room (FULL of old beer bottles being saved for homebrew) i realized the most important thing i'd forgotten. in addition to all the bottles was a homemade gravity bong. now, when i get visitors i expect to expect them, to know in advance. i always clean up the place before letting people in. but these guys surprised me, and i couldnt just say "go away" damn. its mostly just embarassing. the one dude looks like a stoner (or at least a former stoner or something) but the other guy looked...i dunno....a little more straight. i know its not like they're going to call the cops on a tennent who has always paid his rent and bills and so on and so forth.... but damn, its embarassing!!
You should have lured them into the laundry room and smashed their heads open with the bong! Then dragged them outside to dry in the Sun
oh, you and your unnecessary brutality! it wouldnt have worked. its acryllic :& plus its chilly today. what might have done the trick though was an empty magnum of anchor brewing company's 2007 vintage christmas ale....a 50.7oz bottle, shown next to some standard 22s whoever took that pic must be from ohio. even here in ohio its hard to find much of anything by buckeye brewing, and its almost always just the hippie ipa when you do find it...
<big hug> Just make sure that thing is loaded! That's why its not recommended to grow in an apt. Pray you never have HVAC problems. Back in the apt days we did and they would come in whether we were home or not.
Oh snap I thought it was glass! So these guys were maintenance people working directly for your complex then?
I just stick some dollar store plastic flowers in mine and set it on the mantle with the stem to the wall. Mother-in-law even said it was pretty.
Damn I was just considering buying that very bottle of AS Xmas Ale! It was like $26.00 so I changed my mind
yeah, for sure. i've seen one of them before, and they knocked a few times. as i'd just gotten up i kept yelling "just a minute" while i got dressed. at the very last minute i was about to answer the door and they were letting themselves in with their key. they are definitely working with the complex. and i was this close to getting the rest of the supplies i needed to grow one or two plants! gaaaaah.....oh well, its a bad idea anyway. i need to find a way to find a piece of land nobody will find that i can grow on this summer.... i have really good seeds, but they're getting old and i want to plant them one way or another. hashberry by mandala....TASTY looking stuff.....i really need to get these in some earth, but i got nowhere to grow wish i lived out in the country!
Don't worry about the seeds they will last for years. Keep em dry and cool. Besides you seem to have life in order and when you get your own place! Woo Hoo! Nothing beats being the king of the castle (<- don't tell my wife that!).
26 bucks?! i got mine for....fuck, i dont remember..... but i dont think it was more than like 15 for sure! thats at the very most. as for buckeye brewing, the hippie ipa is ok. a little rough, with more earthy/spicy hop bitterness and less of the floral or citrus aspects. all in all its good and i'd recommend trying it if you ever see it. but the ho ho ho magic dubbel, while palatable and strong-ish, was among the worst examples of a dubbel i can think of.
for years? well thats good, then. i got these at an amazing price, and the last time i looked i couldnt find ANYTHING from mandala. i've heard NOTHING but good things about their strains though! anyway, i'm going away to college soon probably. if things go well, that is. i'd like to grow a crop before so i have some on hand in a new location until i meet people, but very recent events discourage that last summer i got these seeds and a grow light and ballast and everything. havent been able to afford a full setup yet, though, so its all been sitting around. whatever. when i finally get my own house or condo maybe
oh, and relayer that beer was pretty good, but it was very, very heavily spiced, predominantly with ginger. i did enjoy it a lot, but it took a bit to really get into it. i love ginger, but it doesnt always work so well in beer, in my opinion
yeah, i have spores in the fridge, and i recently downloaded a ton of terrence mckenna recordings in a torrent, and i've been listening to them for days... i'm about to get on it. far more affordable, a bit more enlightening, and what i dont want for personal stash i can probably trade weight for weight from some middies if i can get ahold of a dealer.
btw i never really listened to any of his recorded lectures before, just read some stuff. am i the only one who thinks his voice is fairly similar to that of dennis miller?
that sucks. I tell everyone not to come over without calling first. even at work. I am a compulsive door locker, so no one can just come in. dont apts have the bolt on the inside without it being able to open from the outside? my best friends apt does. If she is home, and locked from the inside, you can open the lock from the outside, but the deadbolt on the inside stays put. The dick and I are talking about setting up a hydroponic grow in his cabin in the country and the whole nine. If it happens, it should be great. gotta do lots of research.
no, not all apartments have that. in my experience, only ghetto ones do. and hotel rooms. but no, i've never lived in an apartment that wasn't able to be unlocked from the outside. i really, really, really want to live out in the country
I used to hate it when I was back in Ottawa and the maintenance people would come, because first they would come so early and wake me up, they would knock once or twice and were already opening the door and they'd never listen when I told them to wait a minute, so I always had to run to my room, close the door, put pants on and be like.. "so what's going".
dude came back to check it a second time, said they got a bad reading! gah! maybe this is why my water bills have been unimaginably low this time though he went in the bathroom real quick to turn on the water, make sure things were running fine. pretty sure he saw the bong, a one hitter, and a slide and a high times oh well not like he can/would call the cops or something. just hope he doesnt use that key to try and rob me hah
