Underground Gig Venues

    Hey everyone,

    Gonna be in New York City early june and want to sample the New York underground indie music scene. Any suggestions on small venues that have good underground bands and singer-songwriters?

    i don't know about 'underground,' but the lions den, the knitting factory, coda, irving plaza...tonic, many more...have good music quite often. check em out.

    Bowery Ballroom, The North 6th (in BK), CBGBs has its share of good underground bands... all you have to do is go to a few shows and get flyers from people advertising new shows. It'll all open up from there.
