umphrees show info

So I'm finally goin to my first umphrees show. I was supposed to go the last timet ehy came around but no one was into them then(I've manged to turn a few people on) and I was just wondering what seems to be the average crowd during a show. Should I be expecting joints being passed around and such?

 

I got offered to smoke most of the the UM shows I've been to...also noticed you spelled umphrees is upmhreys

but besides that, itll be mostly kids, its a fun crowd, there are some assholes though, hopefully we'll sift them out in time. You'll have a blast, try and get on jake's side but a little to the right so you get a perfect view of Stasik AND Jake. Jake will tear you up

 

I actually spell it that way a lot. I don't know why...I guess I just like the way it looks. I'm afriad though, cuse I'm going with two people and looks like the person who's driving, well, he's cool and all but very strait edge. And I'm afriad he'll leave us there if we take a hit from a joint or something.

 

Haha... I smoke at every concert. I don't care. I just go out to the patio and bring a cigar so I can light it when security comes over to see what I'm smoking (covers up the scent).

 

So I should be expecting ti get smoked up then? And I'll also assume it'll be easy to scare just about anything there as well? Also, how long does a show actually last? Cuse the show here starts at 6:30 So I'm hoping it goes late.

I'm sorry, I thought you meant that was the time they usally end. As in 6:30 am. But man, does that sound like the way to spend a fucking night

 

if it starts at 6:30, chances are it will be over be about 11. that's really early for a show to start.
and yeah people will be smokin. not sure if at umphrey's people will be passin it around. my experience at those shows are frat boys who only care about themselves...

 

Yeah, mostly frat-asses... especially in Nova.

I've gotten it at keller before (though the guy only had a nickel or so and a chillum and I left mine in the car, though I said we could chill after), but most of the time we're friendly.

 

well, the way it is around here I doubt the frat boys/future frat boys of america(what I call the jerk offs at school) now about it. Usally around here you'd have to really want to know about it to get know of a band like that. The people that I know who are into it and such are pretty opposite from that. Infact a lot oft he people I've seen that go to shows like that are older biker guys.

 

just tellin ya what's most likely gonna happen. it's been pretty much my experience at all umphrey's shows, wherever they are.

their playing at the fillmore this friday and saturday. i will go to the friday show. maybe the saturday show, we'll see.
