i was thinking about going, but i ended up not arranging it. it would be quite a roadtrip from here. tickets are still on sale though mind you, i should get off my procrastinating ass and do something.
oh yes you should get do buying those tix; you've got two weeks. last year was the 10th anniversery and i told myself, "its never gunna be this good again, too bad i cant make it". However, this year's line up is even better in my opinion.
I hate to burst your bubble but my cousins girlfriend worked for the two dudes that arrange Ultra every year and she said some of the djs aren't even there. They just put look a likes on stage and play mixes. I've been to ultra and i thought the same to when i went. I was really disappointed becaue I paid $150 for my two day pass and the whole day the second day it rained, sucked at first but then it blew me up.
No offense, but this is possibly the dumbest post I've seen since I've been back. I know what the DJ I want to see looks like. Also, it's pretty hard to stand up there and act like you are mixing, try it. Might sound easy, but the crowd would easily catch on that you were just playing a CD. Also, you can go on youtube and basically find a video from every single DJ at Ultra, and clearly see it's not a stand-in DJ. And are you saying Ultra just claims people are going to be there, and uses fake people? And the real DJ's are okay with basically ruining their reputation if they are found out? Obviously not...so Ultra is doing this without their permission...which is illegal, and nobody would get away with it. If you are the number 1 DJ in the world, and you see that you are set to play somewhere you KNOW you aren't playing...you aren't just going to say, "oh well." UMF has TONS of fucking money, they don't need to use "fake" DJ's to gain royalty illegally. With that said, I wasn't able to go this year, because money was tight. I've been the past 4 years in a row though, and it has been nothing short of amazing every single time. Oh, and have yet to see an impostor DJ! Also, you can't get mad and say the festival sucked because it rained...that wasn't the festival or the organizers fault, lol. The rain was the best part, IMO.
